In the 2020 summer post corona climate, this lido is a real lifesaver for me. A place to swim outdoors and attempt to regain some fitness that was robbed during lockdown, surrounded by a beautiful park. The evening sessions are recommended, as the water has had time to warm up and as flocks of parrots stream overhead giving a mini tropical experience in London. The restrictions to one hour mean less time to relax poolside, but on the other hand space to swim without crowding. For an extended visit you can relax in the park or nearby cafe. The lack of changing facilities but this can easily be got used to if you treat it like changing on a beach, especially in the heat.

I went to the lido for the first time the other day and was excited to swim outside in a 50m pool. It was a hot day and therefore very busy as expected. There was a queue when I arrived in the morning so it took about half an hour to get in which didn't seem too bad. However I noticed this was a lot longer when I left at lunch time so the wait time could have been much more then. The pool itself was great, if a little cold (unheated) and slightly run down. There were enough lanes to swim without being too crowded. However the life guards didn't stop kids climbing on the lane ropes and jumping into the fast lane from the leisure half of the pool from time to time. The main problem was the cleaning (or lack thereof). In the whole time I was there, I didn't see any cleaning done of any sort. The changing room floor was very unpleasant (I wish I had brought flip flops) and the toilet area smelt strongly of urine. With the amount of people there, please could you invest in some cleaning? In summary, I enjoyed the swimming but probably won't be going back until they sort the cleaning out.

Yesterday's experience was pretty bad. I was in the pool a few times before last year and except for the toilets wasn't that bad. What happened yesterday is the fault of security and people managing the lido. The easiest way to prepare yourself for crowds was to put some barriers, that would make it easier for all the people. We arrive at the place at 9:25, which was obviously the busiest time. We didn't mind to queue, at first it was moving pretty fast so it wasn't that bad. Then all of a sudden it stopped and all I could see was twice more people than in queue in front of the doors. I went to security so they react and do something with people who skip the queue and made us wait twice or three times more but twice (I asked two different guys) they just turned and didn't react at all. They started to react when it got crazy and they had to close the doors. Guess what- you brought it to yourself by ignoring it at first. They deserved all the chaos that was there yesterday because it was all your fault for not reacting at first and not preparing for crowds which were obvious on a day like this. Not fair towards people queuing and behaving as everyone should. We end up going home after 2 hours of queuing for nothing. Definitely never going back there if you can't manage teenagers. Use the money you make get better but within a year no changes noticed.

The stench in the changing rooms and showers is like a public toilet - despite the heatwave and hundreds using the lido no one appears to be cleaning it during the day. Litter around the pool. Disgusting.
