About
Originally built in 1934, our iconic flagship cinema is one of the finest surviving buildings of the postwar period, with its Sixties-inspired art deco ceiling, original marble bathrooms and sophisticated bar. The lavish main auditorium, which houses an 11m screen and two Royal Boxes, frequently plays host to red-carpet premieres and is a landmark location on the London cinema circuit.

The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Barnaby and the team are always on hand to give a warm welcome. It’s cosy, clean and warm! As it’s a listed building it feels like stepping back in history. So glad I renewed my membership again ❤️

This cinema is a complete let-down.
Overinflated tickets - I paid £34 for two tickets to a movie that would have cost just £21 for two VIP seats at Vue. Popcorn is also more expensive here.
The seats are crappy as well - hardly any lumbar support and if the person next to you moves, your seat will also creak and move. There is insufficient gradation between rows and your view will be at least partially blocked by the people in the row before you.
I don't see any logic to the rave reviews given by some others - a case of emperor's new clothes? A snobbish idolisation of anything vintage? Just because something is vintage, it doesn't equate to functionality or comfort, and that is true of this cinema. Unless this is the only venue screening that rare art film that you are dying to see, this cinema is best avoided.

Very comfortable and luxurious seats. Not cheap but would definitely go back. Nice to be able to take a drink in with you to sip during film.

We visited this cinema on the 30th December and we loved it. There is a lovely bar area to enjoy a few drinks before the presentation. We opted for some mulled wine - but there was also a very good choice of other drinks. The theatre itself was surprisingly big for an independent cinema and looked very quirky. In general - this is a great venue to spend an evening. It has a charm that you can't get from a big cinema and we really felt we were on a 'night out' than just on a trip to the cinema.

We are used to visit the multiplex movie theatres without any character. Curzon Mayfair is what you can call an enjoyable movie theatre visit. They offer just two screens and the maximum capacity in both theatres is less than a hundred people. They have a bar in the foyer where you can order any kind of drinks, wines, beers, also cocktails. Inside the cinema are small tables between the seats, where you can place your drinks and snacks. Seats are extremely comfortable. Curzon Mayfair is one of the reasons why we love movie theatres.

I saw "On Chesil Beach" here in the small upstairs theater. Seating was comfortable and viewing excellent. As an overseas tourist, I could only suspect that this cinema shows better quality films and wished a theater like it were nearby at home. Foyer bar has snacks, and there are restaurants within walking distance.

Brilliant little cinema - get the royal box seats (front row) for a quite luxurious experience! Great staff too.

First visit to this great cinema, HUGE seats very comfy, not too big an auditorium, lovely cosy bar/cafe, comfy seats there too, nice clean toilets. The decor in the cinema is wonderful cast concrete, just loved the whole lot!!
The film was the icing on the cake...Gary Oldman, portraying Churchill, so believeable. Then a super Question and Answer session afterwards, what an evening to remember.

If not the original one of the earliest Curzon cinemas. Good programme. Foyer bar with snacks. Comfortable seating. One large and one small screen. Recommended.
