12 Bar Club is one of the best bars I've visited in London. The staff are friendly, the drinks selection is fairly extensive and very well-priced considering the bar's central location, and the music is great for anyone who loves to hear classic rock, punk, metal and so on echoing throughout a black, tunnel-like space which feels like part dungeon, part rock club. There's a spacious smoking area in the alley outside with plenty of seating, a pool table and appropriately placed rock memorabilia all over the walls. If you're feeling daring you can buy miniature bottles of Bloody Mary shots, sourced from a bar named Wild at Heart in Berlin which I've also heard good things about. 12 Bar is filled with a 'tacky glam' vibe; inelegant but not impolite, and packed with atmosphere and character. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for an alternative and affordable watering hole open late in London, especially for those who have done other local places such as 'Crobar' to death and who can't face a bus ride into a pit of Camden snobbery.

Visited this venue twice now as my friend has gigged there. It has so much character, it has no airs and graces which, nowadays, is a rarity for a London bar! The barstaff are friendly and attentive, the drinks are cheap and it is a great venue for gigs...because it is small, it feels very intimate as if you are "mates" with the bands that play there. I hear it may be closed down, it would be an absolute shame and a great loss to the "unsigned" music scene that makes London great! PS..the decor is great and whilst the loos are a bit shabby, let's face it---am going there to drink, watch bands and play pool..not to admire the loos. ;)

Samuel Johnson once wrote 'When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life '

I am certainly not tired of London!!!!

I like this place. It reminds me of the old Marquee club on Wardour Street but is a lot smaller. It feels very rock and roll and the two members of staff I met were really great for conversation. In fact the female was able to tell me the names of the three members of P.F.M. In Italian, which is not surprising as they, and indeed she were both of Italian origin. Even so....it was impressive.

The toilets are very rock and roll too but lets be fair here are not the worst I have ever used. Thanks to a certain high street opticians I used the ladies by mistake but historically these have always proved to be cleaner ( and much more fun....) .

Ahem, Where was I? Being on Denmark Street you get a higher than average footfall from muso types and as I am trying to be one of those once again, this is a big plus point.

I cannot fault the place. Next time I am in the area I will definitely be popping in again. I think that sometimes there may be an entry fee if a band is playing.

i bought two drinks and found i was 1pence short rather than wave the 1pence the bar maid insisted i produce the correct money. fair enough i thought so i asked if the pint could be made up to a pint and if the whiskey on ice could be transferred to a cold glass rather than the hot one i was presented with.
obviously not used to being used to such demands she flung the drinks down on the bar and presented me with the hot glass and said "would you like to lick it out?" Nice sevice i thought i will not be rushing back there again.

Door people always make clear they dislike the non british and just want your money. They are arrogant and ignorants. Really poor costumer service. Shame because the venue is great.

A great alternative place to go discover new live music. We found it by mere luck and spent a great evening listening to good music for great beer at SUPER cheap prices (if compared to the bars in the area)! Check it up whenever you are traveling with friends in a low budget and feel like having a nice time!

PS: Beware that they charged us a 5 Sterling Pound fee. But the beer was very cheap (3 pounds).
Bizarre PS: the bartender drew a pentagon in my beer (like baristas do with the coffee) and I noticed it before drinking.

As it was my first time going here as a music venue I didnt know what to expect but it was well worth going and both lighting and sound was perfect and I would recommend this venue to anyone who is a big fan of music, its fair to say I didnt know what it was like at Covent Garden but I like the fact its now more local to me and its a venue that I will be going to again in the future.
