I attended a concert almost 2 weeks ago now and I have to say that the concert was brilliant - a beautiful venue on the inside and a wonderful act. However, the staff and my queueing experience were very unpleasant. From the moment my friend and I approached the line we were greeted with disorganised and unwelcoming staff. There were... More

Turned up to see the Drop Kick Murphys without checking they had any facilities for people with mobility issues (I have severe osteoarthritis in my knee and need a walking stick). Huge queue outside but I went to the door to just ask a question about the bar and them went to join the queue but a steward saw me... More

This has always been my favourite venue! The sound has always been excellent here. the atmosphere is amazing and it's slanted all the way down to the stage so you'll rarely ever have trouble seeing the act! One of my favourite places to see all sorts of bands.

Queue was disturbingly long when we arrived for Lower Than Atlantis gig, but once the doors were open it moved really quickly. Staff were very efficient and friendly - liberally handing out ear plugs to anyone who wanted them. Drinks weren't cheap - but then you kind of expect that. Agree with others re. the sound quality, but it varied... More

Visited the Brixton O2 academy for the first time to see Emeli Sande in concert. The venue is very easy to find with the closest underground station being Brixton which is approx. 6 minutes walk away. We arrived earlier than expected mainly because we did not know the area or the venue however when we arrived the queue's were very... More

We went to see Emeli Sande last night, oh what a tainted experience. The venue is filthy, the carpets are soaked, idiotic stewarding, sound guy must be on a different planet as it was shocking. The steward in the picture tried desperately to get a girls number, this went on for 30 minutes shouting loud and spoiling the concert for... More

I just love Brixton as a venue. The theatre style decor has been updated and looks great. I've been to Ed Sheeran, Public Enemy, Rudimental and this week I went to see The XX. Each time the sound quality was clear. The best thing about Brixton Academy is that the floor slopes meaning that wherever you stand you have a... More

This venue is great for live gigs, the acoustics are great, the bar prices are expensive but not astronomical, easy to get to and easy to find parking. All in all a great night out

One of the biggest venues in London which means events there can be seriously impressive and almost seminal if the promoters get it right. If you are going to a rave night, be warned however. There will be sniffer dogs on the door, and although these are for show and cant really smell anything, if you look nervous or worried... More
