ENO production of the old favourite Cossi was truly fantastic!! Opera ; the highest form of art combining acting, singing, dancing, comedy and everything else! This particular production was superb! Quite a different take on the subject . Fabulous!

We had heard that the Hackney Empire was a lovely example of an old style theatre and jumped at the chance to see a show when we visited the area recently. Pleasantly surprised that, for a theatre of this age, the leg room was better than most. Very enjoyable.

Big theatre but very old and cramped. There is only 1 exit that we could see, for a lot of people. One musn't be in a hurry to get out, and we can't imagine what would happen in case of a fire. The seats are small and close to each other. At the end of our show the audience stomped their feet, we got worried the theatre would crumble!…

We loved the over the top interior of the theatre, and a great performance of Dick Whittington, via the Windrush generation, great singing and imaginative sets.
