nice place, it's an old building and full of atmosphere. We hadn't booked, but walked in for lunch and there was space. The place was pretty full, but plenty of tables so no issue getting a table. It feels small and cosy though. Staff was very friendly indeed. Menu was nice with good quality and special items on it. We... More

Saw a matinee performance of Kroetz's The Nest this week. It was a packed crowd scene since the Young Vic seems to want to maximize the money they rake in by running three plays at once. It was so crowded that my wife's expensive sweater got damaged in the crush. The play was sold out, which is a tribute to... More

"A man of good hope" was good, an engaging African refugee story which which tne he hero repeatedly masters the misfortunes he experiences in his journey to a better life. Just a little formulaic, the many obstacles faced by an African boy. Lovely singing and group choral numbers, THe kind if show where they have to do something very different... More

The young vic is currently hosting a superb show called "a man of good hope" . Well produced and the play portrayed an emotional journey through excellent dance and song. The young vic is the perfect theatre for a show like this. If you are over 60 then this all comes at a cost of £15.00 . Great value! The... More

This is a review of the theatre only as rather than a specific performance. The box office is in the short entrance way as you enter the theatre and there are bars upstair and downstairs. My favourite place to sit is on the outside balcony upstairs but bag your table before you go to the bar as they fill up... More

The Young Vic has shone with this play. The performances coupled with the operatic voices of the cast won them a well deserved ovation at the end of this play. It was a narration of a journey which went further than the written word. Well done all round!

Excellent CafÈ for meeting people or just get something to eat when the supermarket meal deal is unappealing. Good selection of drinks. Good at all times of the day from breakfast onwards.

We went on a Saturday to the Young Vic to see the play , The Emperor , which is based on accounts given to Polish journalist Ryszard Kapuscinski by court servants and ministers of the last days of the reign and the fall from power of the Ethiopian emperor Haile Selassie. Most parts were played by Kathleen Hunter who gave... More

For theatrical performances, I rate this place 4 to 5 stars. Very little we have seen performed here has been less than above-average. We have been regular attenders at the Young Vic for more than 20 years. However, today, 17th September 2016, we were insulted before the afternoon performance of "The Emperor" One member of the staff wrongly accused my... More
