Neighbourhood: Chelsea
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.

Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

A shop of wondrous maps and antiquities that is a marvel for the eyes. The owner was very kind and showed me his various wares and although I didn’t find what I was looking for he gave me a lovely postcard for free.
I feel in debited already and I must find a way to reward his kindness! Still, a very beautiful shop
Nonetheless. Worth a visit.

Wonderful shop. Other reviews around staff not treating customers nicely are completely incorrect ... I turned up in a tracksuit and hoodie and they were very cautious and helpful. I'm 100% certain I will be returning in the coming months to start to add to my collection of historical maps!

Staff training needed to encourage a the veryt least the pretence of good manners. I was met with rudeness and waves of disdain,,maybe because I wasnt wearing a tie and saville row suit! This shop must understand that an instant eqaution between appearance and ability and willingness to buy cannot instantly be made these days.

A one of the few places in the world that carry this range and depth of historic maps for retail sale. The store is staffed with experts that, if not previously engaged, will take the time to share their knowledge and display their fabulous inventory of historic documents. The store is truly a gem.

This was the second time I have been in this place. Very professional and well aware persons are serving during shopping in this map dealer. I am collecting navigation maps and very difficult to find the specialist dealer for this kind of maps. The owner was very kind and very well informed about the subject. The map he showed to me was the a muster piece. Unfortunately I could not afforded to buy this map, but still dreaming for it. I will always visit there whenever I come to London.

Prior to going to London, researched places I would like to visit. The Map House was on my list.
The Map House is located in the Knightsbridge area. It is a 7 minute walk from Harrods Department Store. The building that the business is in is huge. Have 3 floors full of all kind of artwork and maps from all over the world. Interesting place to visit if you are in the area.
Greeted by a staff member right away. I inquired about a particular map I as interested in purchasing on my trip. We found the particular map that I was inquiring about. Purchased a original 1861 Newfoundland map. Since I was in London and going to another country afterwards, I had the map shipped back to Canada. Cost to ship it was reasonable, about £20. All staff members that I had interaction with were knowledgeable and helpful.
Would recommend a visit. And I will definitely go back and check it out more the next time I’m in London.

The name says it all with Map House. This amazing shop has some of the most detailed and interesting maps you will ever see. Located in a small street off busy Brompton Road, the small shop is stacked with beautifully mounted maps and artwork that would look good anywhere. Unlike some other shops I have reviewed that are 'just' shops, the Map House is a unique and interesting place and a genuine attraction. Very interesting and worth a look.
