Can't believe I haven't had the Sunday roast here before, or at least not since it was a Young pub. Upstairs has beautiful high ceilings and architectural features in the classic Georgian style. The clouds like mural on the ceiling is also stunning. Only thing I noticed slightly concerned me was the heating wasn't on and the fireplaces are decorative only. I felt better of asking as I knew the dinner would warm me up, and I wasn't wrong. We shared the pork and the beef and the pork was exceptional despite the soggy crackling. Beef was tender and thin cut though some might prefer thicker slices. Generous roasties, huge fresh Yorkshire and sweet carrots. Cabbage a bit bland but nice to have. Gravy could've been a wee bit hotter but they had to bring it up a big flight of stairs or maybe 2 due to the old building so can't be helped. Definitely will be back. I'm just sad it took me so long to try it as I live near and am constantly on the search for the best local roast. So far in the last year or so, this has to be it!…

As a local I have tried most places in the area. This is undoubtedly the best roast! The weekday menu is also excellent. They have a really great chef and a lovely menu. The staff are always friendly and very helpful. We are lucky to have this as our local. I hope word doesn’t spread too much :-) …

Visited this small backstreet pub for a meal and a few beers on a sunny Tuesday afternoon in August. We had fish and chips which was wonderfully cooked and very hot when served. Washed down with a few pints of Guinness and yes, I would recommend that people try the food, and with a good selection of beers, what’s not to like. Fantastic.. Reasonably priced and the place had a good atmosphere for the time of day of our visit. Would definitely use this pub again.…

I came here with high expectations as I'd heard many great things about the Sunday Roast. I'm pleased to say that I was not disappointed. The welcome was warm and the staff were attentive. The place filled up quickly and the atmosphere was warm. My plate was piled high, with the lamb not too pink with delicious light homemade gravy. An added bonus was the Yorkshire Pud which was huge, and had clearly been mad e with TLC. For dessert had a generous helping of Sticky Toffee Pudding which at £5 was great value for money. Next time I shall try the vegan mushroom and spinach wellington as that looked amazing. When a pub puts effort into it's vegetarian and vegan options it shows great thought. Nothing worse than when all they can be bothered to offer is mushroom risotto. To go with our meal they had an excellent light Belgian beer that I've let to see anywhere else in London. At 4% it works perfectly as a lunchtime tipple. Look forward to returning for lunch over the next few months, and it I intend to return for a beer on a summer evening as the selection they have is local and independent craft beer.…
