Bustling pub, bear iffier than I'd have liked

I appreciate your the only person working floor service but that was not the reason the food came out in ten... More

Went on a Sunday, very busy with families but in a nice way. Nice atmosphere, friendly quick staff, lovely decor. I did, however, find their beer a bit bland, I expected more Barnet Beers from the brewery that was/ is attached to the pub, but instead had a selection of average beers, the best was Glory, the one Barnet beer... The service, the food and the drinks list available is hard to see how anyone can not love this place. Today surpassed all other visits we all had roasts and when my youngest left a slice... More

We've just left the Black Horse after a brilliant dinner, we were a family of 11 including 2 young children, first and foremost the young team of staff were superb, nothing was to much trouble and they were attentive without being obtrusive, we all ate off the xmas menu and had no complaints from anyone, the pub was extremely busy... Polite staff, great atmosphere and fizz on draft. Busy and fun with great menu and outdoor space. Nice to meet up for a drink or to enjoy their great food .

We go here for the Sunday Roasts all year round and have never had a problem - the food and service has always been spot on. We take our friends and family with us quite regularly - particularly in the summer - and they always compliment the place. Recently had our baby's Christening function here on a busy Sunday afternoon... More

A gastro pub set away from the main beaten track in High Barnet. Essentially a nice pub, well laid out with some quirky features and lots of outdoor space. The food is generally of good quality, that is if you are prepared to wait an hour and forty five minutes for a meat platter to share that was over priced... More

We were asked to leave the garden at 21.00 as dogs, even well behaved ones, on leads as ours were are not allowed on the premises, in or outside after this time. The pub was not busy on this evening. We had to wait an hour for the food order. On enquiry the order had not reached the kitchen so... More
