Nice community pub

A nice community pub with a friendly atmosphere. A good range of drinks and bar staff who obviously enjoy their job.

The Glad is a fantastic place and one of the reasons we live in this area. The beer's good, the music is usually good, but the atmosphere is always worth it. It couyld be in danger from developers, so go there and support it.

I loved the intimacy of this Pub and also the regular Band Dai and the Ramblers are brilliant to watch here too.

I have been here a few times as I am in the area.I am reassured to read that it's not just me that observed the same dreadful service etc.. Some of the bar staff always have a bad attitude and always wind me up. I went recently to hear a Blues Band who turned up 40 mins later than advertised... More

Could be a really good little back street boozer. Has well kept ale ruined by a surly barmaid who didn't want to top up my under filled pint. Apparently froth up to the line constitutes a full measure...Won't bother going back. Shame.

I visited The Glad last night for a live music performance. This was my first time visiting The Glad and I was very pleasantly surprised! Don't get me wrong, it is absolutely tiny, probably the smallest pub I have ever been to, but it had a great atmosphere. Seemed like a really good friendly atmosphere inside. Nice beers on sale.... Have been going to The Glad for years as my brother lives nearby. It's a great little venue. Ok selection of beers on tap. Great bands and live music. But the staff. Gee. I'm not sure if he's the guy that runs the place but he's got a face like the back end of a bus. I've seen a sunnier... More

This place looks like a dump from outside but go inside and you will find it is nothing of the sort! This is an old fashioned pub which takes an obvious pride in the real ales sold. Food is probably secondary, as it always will be in proper pub. Staff could not be more obliging and strangers actually speak to... More

Visited on a cold Sunday evening but once inside I was quickly warmed up by some great free acoustic Americana music in a candle lit environment. Four ales were on cask and pies dominate the simple and reasonably priced food menu. If there is music taking place, customers are encouraged to refrain from talking. However, there is a an upstairs... More
