Having had pizzas in the past, and enjoyed them immensely, we opted to try the Thai food on Friday last. I love Pad Thai and this was just a delight, the nicest I can remember. Himself had melt in the mouth beef massaman curry. The beer was a great too!

I was here with my family at the weekend. Evidently this is a popular pub. Staff were friendly, there was a good range of beers and by London standards I didn't think pints were too dear. There was Thai food available, but we sat in the back and had pizzas. My wife and I had the Four Cheese pizzas -... More

Yea a sad story of changing neighbourhood and community Living in Leytonstone for twenty five year the Star and its sister pub the Bell on the High road ( run by sister!) were the pubs to hit but like most of the tied houses margins tightening and islamification has reduced trade. Both are shadows of their former glory The Star... More

The North Star is a traditional pub in the Browning Road conservation area. Friendly locals and a good selection of ales and lagers. Beer garden at the back. Wood Fired Pizza's at the weekend and Thai food Tuesday to Sunday.

The pub has a real East End friendly vibe and is in a small attractive street of the main road. It has had the great idea of incorporating local food talent. Thai food and curry is available, but it also has an excellent pizza oven which offers a wide choice of really delicious pizzas. There is room for kids out... More

We love this friendly pub with the best real ales locally. Now it serves authentic wood fired pizzas catering for all tastes. Yummy. Soooooo good.

People have documented the Thai food as being very good but i can't comment on that as have never had the Thai. However, the pizzas are very good indeed- fresh, thin bases, loaded with proper pizza toppings (i.e. no chicken tikka, sausage, pulled pork, kebab meat etc etc). We eat rater than drink there as two lovely large pizzas are... More

Old school pub (2 bars, dartboard, beer garden). Nice locals, landlord's a top bloke, no keg but 5 good cask ales (Foundation ELB, Dark Star American Pale etc). Excellent fresh Thai food - try the Golden Prawns. And in the beer garden they have a wood-fired pizza ovens knocking out really good pizza. All prices are very reasonable and the... More

Tucked around the corner from the main street, I almost walked right past this place after a recommendation from a friend, but I'm glad I didn't! It's immediately clear watching people chatting with the bar staff that people here know each other – if you're looking for your classic local in Leytonstone, this is probably it. I tried a few of...
