Neighbourhood: Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.

Was staying in crap hole Palace Court Hotel - avoid like typhoid - which is just over the road. I've been in before but not for quite a while. Would not, despite what the blurb says, class this as Notting Hill. It's Bayswater. Anyway, went in prior to going to gig, was served by Jacob, nice lad, attentive and friendly but did concentrate on a couple of acquaintances once they came in. Beers decent and well kept. Decided on basis of Jacob to have breakfast there next day. Had the full english -tea and cooee extra, bit of a disappointment, surely should come with tea! Anyhow. I had poached eggs, alaways the acid test plus I prefer them. One perfec, the oyher slightly overdone. Bacon cudda / shudda been slightly crispier being streaky - would be better to go to back bacon. Good sausage , slightly overcooked skin, bit mean wih beans portion, Excellent large half tomato, nice sourdough toast but one piece affected by excess water on plate from eggs ( eye to detail ),generous lump of butter, hash browns ok. Had coffee, v. nice. Lady server excellent, service with a smile. Overall, b/fast acceptable and i would recommend it and the pub to any traveller.

Ordered a roast beef Sunday roast, the broccoli was rock hard, the lone carrot was terrible and when I asked for some horseradish sauce, the answer was that they didn't have any, when I asked the chef about this situation he said he didn't understand me and he then confirmed that they didn't have any horseradish sauce in the kitchen,I found this quite hard to believe,as I'm a qualified chef

Must have changed hands as was quiet nice place to eat and drink. Disappointing visit this summer I first was asked if I wanted to take advantage of the governments skim the 50% discount they is. How odd to be asked ? Then I was told that if I ate at the table outside the skim was not available. Absolutely ridiculous. To top it the food was not great.
Would have recommended this place a few years back, but certainly not now.

We have eaten here twice during our stay close by. Traditional English fare at its best. Smaller serves of some meals available for children. Food is delicious and generous serves. Able to answer all queries with regard to allergies. A lovely family dining experience

Walked from Notting Hill and came across this pub. Delicious Sunday roast. Cold beer poured perfectly. Friendly staff at the bar. They conversed with me and were inviting. Gave some great advice and suggestions for visiting. Very clean establishment.

Went to a party in the function room downstairs. Absolutely fantastic evening. Hat off to the chap behind the bar who couldn’t have been more helpful. Food was spot on as well. Would recommend for a party and will definitely return!

This was a nice pub near where we were staying in London. The chicken Sunday roast was delicious, and the atmosphere was cozy.

Pub looks good. But not very good customer service. We sat down in dining area at back. There was a large TV. Once the football came on they turned the sound up very loud. We could hardly hear ourselves especially as one couple are elderly. Even though none of of the few people in the dining area were watching, the staff said they would not turn sound down because it was management policy and it is a sports pub. There were alternative TVs with football on. If we hadn't already ordered we would have left. Which we did as soon as we finished our food, won't go back

Just arrived in London and staying across the street. Popped in for lunch and service was excellent. Friendly staff who adjusted our order to accommodate a food allergy. Great atmosphere. We will return.
