- Pagie08Manchester, United Kingdom168 contributionsAmazing placeWe only went for a few hours but an amazing place. We booked in advance. First Saturday of opening 10am slot. It actually seemed really quiet inside I’m guessing as it gets closer to Xmas will be a lot busier. We did the magical ice kingdom. Big wheel. And ice bar. Again all booked in advance. There are plenty of food stalls. Games. And little Xmas market stalls. We enjoyed it and would definitely go again.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 18 November 2023
- DadwhoeatsKing's Lynn, United Kingdom56 contributions2023 Winter wonderlandUnderwhelming visit this year. Maybe it was the early visit but it certainly did not feel magical maybe towards Christmas it will. Overpriced drinks and food as normal. Magical kingdom ice sculptures were phenomenal. Security guards all very friendly. Probably the last year we will go better value for money at chessington / Alton towers. £6-9 a ride £40 for a family attraction. £7.50 a pint Hotdogs stupid money Churros £6Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 19 November 2023
- TomGloucester, United Kingdom846 contributionsFirst time visitingThis is the first time we have visited winter wonderland and was taken back by the scale of it. Its huge!! So much to see here, loads of food and drink to try too. Whilst most things you have to pay to see/do it’s just nice to walk around and look at everything. Really enjoyed it.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 19 November 2023
- Greenwich SocialLondon, United Kingdom552 contributionsFun Christmas experience for all agesWent a couple of times - obviously it's better if you can go on a weekday because it's much more manageable and easier to walk around. The slotted timings work well but at the weekend it can still take 30 mins+ to enter, even when the queue doesn't look big. Lots of options but probably unsurprisingly there are a lot of added costs. Definitely a good Christmas attraction for all ages.Visited December 2022Travelled with friendsWritten 21 November 2023
- Gfree17 contributionsPositives outweigh the negativesin the cold light of day disappointing as poorly maintained displays clearly visible eg by circus bar large animals had not been repainted and feet were missing and arm hanging off gorilla, pre purchased bavarian meal package was not good value and there were nicer/ more interesting places to eat although difficult everywhere to find staff that understood allergen needs. Having said that both circus shows the ice kingdom and ice sculpting were excellent and good value and superbly inclusive. At night the lights improved the Christmas feel and all staff around the site were helpful. Accessible toilet facilties easy to find and well equippedVisited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 24 November 2023
- 257Scotland, United Kingdom498 contributionsNice evening outFirst visit, 6 - 8pm slot, paid £5 entrance. Visually, it's great. So many girls standing getting pictures whilst looking into the distance! Didn't eat anything, quite pricey. Had one drink in Narnia Bar, which was pretty reasonable. Plenty toilets. Had booked the ice sculptures (great, but they won't take pics on your phone for you), and the ice bar (fun, but I was freezing, even with the coat/ gloves they give you!). Having been to many Christmas markets abroad, WW is more of a theme park. There's not many handmade, festive items....and we didn't see any stalls with London tree baubles. I like to get one from each country. Good to experience, probably wouldn't do it again.Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 24 November 2023
- FoodieQueenLondon, United Kingdom500 contributionsYou can’t not enjoy Winter Wonderland 🌲🌲🌲Ok so large queue to get in for 2-3pm time slot. Security not really being thorough. The Ice kingdom is much less of a Kingdom and more a walk through and rather scary for young children (2 nearly 3) so that was a waste of 5 minutes and £12 for a photo. It is also very very cold inside and maybe this added to his dislike. Waste of £ Onwards we went, not many rides for little children and badly managed. They take ages to load the children on and then it barely goes for a minute. Then on to the circus which was good value and lovely and warm. It was good to heat up for a bit. On leaving the Circus night had fallen and all the sparkle and magic of Winter Wonderland sets in. Also it does get much busier. I do agree everything does seem quite expensive but it’s the way things are going. Well worth a visit but it’s basically a souped up fun fair with stalls and even more food outlets. If you get good weather it really is situated in a beautiful part of London. Lots of places to sit but I would imagine that the closer to Christmas we get the busier it gets. Overall enjoyed but did get dropped off right outside and picked up. Not sure I would enjoy as much if I had to come from afar, find parking etc… If you do book two attractions over £25 online entry is free so this is a bonus. Also it does get very very cold on this part of Hyde Park so do wrap up! The entry fee does put off random riff raff from roaming wild and beware of lots of professional beggars in and around the area. Queue to get in after dark is heaving so do get there in good time to enjoy the evening session which finishes at 10pmVisited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 27 November 2023
- GregoireMonaco70 contributionsGood ambianceAfter a few years away I was finally able to come back and visit it. As usual it is very big so you have plenty or christmas shops, food stands and attractions. Luckily i went during the off-peak moment, so I was able to truly enjoy every moment. The only downside would be that the prices are very expensive compared to 3/4 years ago.. .Visited November 2023Travelled soloWritten 1 December 2023
- Dan KThe Hague, The Netherlands8,913 contributionsGreat to back, despite the incompetent Le Fondue Chalet staffIt’s becoming a bit of a family tradition to visit Winter Wonderland. As we were in Londen in September/October, we would’ve missed it. So decided to surprise the misses and children with an unplanned trip to Winter Wonderland. It was a gorgeous Saturday when we visit. Cold, but clear skies and sunny. Unfortunately, due to a large pro Hamas demonstration in Central London traffic was gridlocked. We arrived four hours later than planned due to this annoyance. Having pre booked the Giant Wheel and Le Chalet Fondue, the start of our visit was a bit rushed. We rode the Giant Wheel during sunset, which gave us amazing views of Winter Wonderland and London. Le Chalet Fondue was very disappointing. The cheese fondue was good, but despite the large numbers of staff they forgot our son’s children’s meal. He had to wait for 45 minutes. We had to flag staff down multiple times, they were running around like headless chickens. We saw multiple arguments amongst staff, making the atmosphere very tense. Staff seemed very inexperienced to me. No solution and/or apologies were offered. Which made the experience even worse. When I settled the bill, I refused to tip them. Asking for the bill took so little mg that at one point I almost walked away. After dinner we continued with the other rides. A lot of the operators were Dutch, so we could to them in our language. Part from Le Chalet Fondue, we had a wonderful day. Yes, it’s expensive. But well worth the money.Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 2 December 2023
- DawnDancerWatford, United Kingdom635 contributionsToo long a wait to get in 45 minsNot been for 7 years as a friend wanted to go I booked tickets for us both noting their is now a £5 entry fee . Booked ice Kingdom for £12,50 , firstly the entry Qs are unacceptable- we had to wait 45 mins just to get in , glad my hubby did not come with his bad knees he would not have been able to stand that long. Theirs just one person in each Q doing security check they need more personal. The hot dog from oh my dog was I must admit amazing but at £21 for 2 , expensive. The hot chocolate was lovely but again around £8 , sadly not enough actual stalls mostly fun fair. Don't think I will go again .Visited December 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 2 December 2023

I paid £45 for 2 adults and a child to go Ice Skating for 50 minutes. We spent a long time queuing inside to get the skates and to check a bag in which ran into our ice skating time. Not one member of staff smiled or greeted anyone in the queues. We got onto the rink and the behavior by the staff is awful, The Staff on the ice spent the whole time skating around nearly tripping people up and telling everyone to put their phones away ignoring the people that actually needed help. We was told we wasn't allowed to take photos but was expected to leave the rink to take one or pay £25 for theirs. They didn't make much of a effort with decorations with a basic tree in the middle with wires and mess on show. I will definitely wont be attending again and wouldn't recommend this to anyone

First of all it was halal so we decided to eat here!
Ordered a jerk chicken wrap for 8 pound added 2 pound to have fries didn’t realise until the end that the fries came inside the wrap and not separately. I had 5 pieces of chicken and chips and salad at the bottom. Absolute disgraceful to have paid more to have the wrap filled with fries instead of chicken.

This was our first visit to winter wonderland, we were booked in for ice skating at 10am on the 30th December 2019, because of the Queues to check bags we were 20 minutes late for our session which really took away from the hour skating I actually didnt enjoy the skating knowing we only had half the time. Make sure you go in plenty of time, we didnt realise this was going to be an issue. It really is a huge place and I would have loved to go when it was dark and see all the lights. When we came out I was glad we went early because there were 100 s of people waiting in line to get in, so i would say it was going to be over busy on an evening time. Cute little market stalls, with the usual market items and nice Christmas gifts if you go before Christmas. Lovely food stalls and smells coming from them all. Great rides, but the money really adds up ranging from £5 to £9 per person so think about that if you have a few children because the money easily runs to over £100 for a few rides. We went on the big wheel and that was £56 for 4 of us and its only 10 minutes but that was a must when your in there and great views and photo s, if you dont mind the height (bit nervous on these ) We had an enjoyable few hours in there before we had to leave for a food booking we had. You could walk around all day though and still not see everything.

Well I found myself scratching my head a little as to the whole “Winter Wonderland” experience. Spending much time abroad I had never been in the UK whilst Winter Wonderland was going on and so for years now I have been keen to see what it was all about. When last year some friends and I decided to spend Christmas in the UK it was a must on our list and I hope this review may help others in a similar position.
Some practical matters:
1. Winter Wonderland as such is free to enter so you can see it all at your leisure, eat and drink. You have to pay for rides and for half a dozen or so experiences such as shows, ice bar, big wheel and ice skating. It’s probably a good idea to book those ahead of time as queues can be excessive to say the least. We in fact decided not to book any and had no regret as we did not visit them but the Ice Sculptures do look pretty cool. Contactless Cards are the way to go for rides etc which I know is not always an option if you’re visiting from out of town.
2. There’s a “Winter Wonderland” app. However, the “Map” part of it is not ideal and I found downloading the PDF version of the map much easier.
3. Getting to the right entrance is not easy. They have colour coded entrances and then this “three word” system which in practice was not very practical. I’m no slouch with technology, but it took a while to get it to work in a useful manner and there’s no hope when sending that to friends of an older generation. It was also interesting that even taxi drivers and hotel porters looked blankly when you mentioned a specific colour entrance.
4. Now the big thing for those unaware is that it’s basically a huge funfair. We went thinking there was also a real Christmas Market type part, but that is not the case. There’s a Christmas Market and Bavarian village, but it’s mainly focused on quite average food and no cute or quaint Christmas stalls. Just some selling tacky tat.
5. There’re food stalls, but the orchestration of this is questionable as there are many selling exactly the same thing.
6. The Ice Rink looks wonderfully Victorian and perfect for the setting.
As I said it’s basically a large fun fair with the ambiance of such. Lots of drunk people being obnoxious. Probably more fun for kids during the day.
One thing which I will say though is that it was lovely seeing the endless streams of people walking through London’s stunning parks on their way there. It’s great to see these magnificent places being used and enjoyed to such a degree with a buzz in the air.
It was certainly not what I expected and not a place to take visiting guests to. I think an accurate summing up is that when you ask the fountain of all knowledge, a London Black Cab driver, what their thoughts are on Winter Wonderland and they roll their eyes pitifully it says it all. Been there, [not] got the t-shirt and never again.

I feel sad writing this review because I was so very excited about winter wonderland but I left feeling irritated and disappointed. Firstly, do not over book activities in advance because chances are, you won't have time for all of them and you will not be offered a refund as 'you can return another date' eventhough all the other weekend dates are sold out. The attendent said 'do you all work?' when we explained that we can't come back for a morning slot - very naive thing to say, I don't see how anyone without a job could afford to go to Winter wonderland because it was a total rip-off. For 3 of us, we spent £200 excluding food, drink, tube etc. Ice skating was by far the most disappointing part of our trip and I refuse to support lidl again after going because the staff inside the ice skating were so rude. I've never met anyone who works in retail to be so rude and make you feel so worthless. Where is the Christmas spirit?? I find it so disgusting that you have to pay £24 to get in and then you have to pay £1 per bag/item. You can't have your bags on the ice but this isn't specified until you get on the ice and then the staff send you off. There is some extreme power tripping going on by the staff there and they ruined our day out saying I could not go on the ice if I did not pay a pound. Despite not having any money on me.
Most of the rides had a 45 minute+ wait so as mentioned previously, if you get there after work, you don't have enough time to do everything as the park shuts at 10 and they kick you out off the park at 9.55. The ice sculpture Palace was especially disappointing for £10 each. It was not very impressive and again felt like a money making scheme with the photos available to buy for £25
Food stalls are all very similar, not much variety. Lots of the same churro stands and bratwurst stalls. All with large queues so we did not have time to eat because we had to get our activities done in time.
Overall, the whole evening felt like a massive transaction. No Christmas joy. Just a money making scheme. For someone who loves Christmas, I can't express how disappointed I was. I would not recommend to anyone and I will not be going again.

We went with our daughters on a recent Xmas visit to London. I was not entirely convinced about going after reading some of the reviews but we had a really lovely time. It is free to enter and security are checking bags. A lot of people mentioned the possibility of terror attacks (which of course we all worry about) but come on guys we have to get on with it. We felt the atmosphere was incredible. We were there early afternoon until early evening and everyone was simply there to have a great time. There is a good range of rides, stalls, food and drinks and loads of live music bars. I thought the rage of activities really added to the atmosphere as there were older people, young people and children and everyone was really enjoying it. We pre-booked tickets for the ice sculptures, the ice bar and the circus show. Yes, it was £180 but that was for four of us, so overall (assuming you can afford it) worth the money. I absolutely adored the ice sculptures. They are incredible. It is very cold (obvious point!) so it doesn't last an age but the sculptures and the lovely slide and photo opportunities were well worth the entry price. The ice bar does what it says on the tin.I'm not sure I'd go again but our daughters (late 20s loved it) and it was worth experiencing. The show we saw was incredible. We have seen some circ performances in the US and really pleased to see them coming to the UK. They leave you stunned! It was a cold day when we went, and we had tickets so got straight through security (there were queues at the general entrance when we left but nothing horrendous). I suspect it would have got busier (and harder to walk around/ get served) as the evening progressed as we left around 7pm. My only criticism and I think it's valid is the cost of food and drinks (and some of the rides, which looked amazing but were ridiculous!). We had a bratwurst in Leicester Square Xmas market (£5) and they were £14 at the wonderland. I expect to pay a bit more but that was outrageous in my view. Nearly £60 for four hotdogs is not my idea of a good use of money. I wonder how accessible this is for people with not a lot of money. I loved the fact it was free to go but lowering the prices of food and drinks would have been better! Overall though I really loved the attraction and would return

We visited as a big family group with children ranging from ages 2 to 17! There is something for everyone and the effort that has gone into this place is fantastic. Lots of places to eat and drink and be entertained.
But the HUGE downside is the cost of everything. I had gone with an expectation that it would be expensive, but was not prepared for the “9 token” which is equivalent to £9 for a 2 minute ride on a rollercoaster! Everything is SOO overpriced and there is simply no need for it other than simple greed. They have the footfall to make a hefty profit without charging the extortionate prices that they do. But my husband would like me to note the beer was of a reasonable price in such a venue! When dusk fell it got extremely busy, uncomfortably so in fact with queues to get in being just crazy. I’m not sure what their capacity is but I did not see any measures in place to ensure that this was stuck to.
All in all a great place, but seriously Winter Wonderland, rethink your pricing!

We took our 4 year old this year and he absolutely loved it so much so that we’ve already booked a hotel to visit again next year as he still talks about it all the time. We went in the evening and also returned the following day, it was definitely more enjoyable in the evening, the atmosphere was more magical with the impact of all the festive lights, it felt a bit like “the morning after the night before” in the cold light of day. We went to the circus whilst there which my son loved and we felt it was good value for money. In the evening there were various live music acts and entertainers in the bar areas which were enjoyable.
Criticisms would be that everything (rides, food, drinks, souvenirs etc) was very expensive although to be expected at a London attraction. We also found it hard to find anywhere that sold drinks with dairy alternative milks (we only found one which charged £4 for a tea with very cheap soy in which induced a £1 soy surcharge) there was also very little in the way of vegan food. Overall a lovely festive experience though.

Hyde Park Winter Wonderland is London’s spectacular Christmas destination and is FREE to enter! Located in the heart of London, Hyde Park is beautifully transformed into a sparkling winter magic wonderland.
The attractions include the World’s Tallest Transportable Observation Wheel, a new theme ‘A Christmas Carol’ at the Magical Ice Kingdom, Paddington™ on Ice, a Season Ride Pass and a brand new pre-bookable restaurant, Cedar & Spruce Bar + Kitchen.
It also features UK’s largest open-air ice rink with Sky Cinema, funky new apres ski vibes at Bar Ice, festive singalongs at Bar Hütte Karoke and jaw dropping acts Zippos Christmas Circus and Cirque Berserk in the Circus MegaDome!
Plan to go there at setting the sun and when the lights turn on. You need at least 6 hours to see everything, plus food and drinks, not including taking a few rides.

Queues into the park were terrible. Luckily, we had a pass that let us skip it. The rides itself were really good, but we had to wait 30 mins just to get on one. Best thing to do is to see if there is a fast track pass you can get to skip the queues, however I imagine they would be expensive.

Is it worth while buying the park rides attractions before going? Or buy the rides when there?
Thanks

I am reading reviews saying long queues to get in. If my entry time is 2pm can I join the queue earlier than that to be let inside at 2pm as we have an ice kingdom booking to get to or will they only let us join the queue at 2pm and then not get inside until later?

You can normaly join the que before as it can take upto 20 mins to get inside.

Is it possible to get a pod for just 2 people on the giant wheel in winter wonderland? Or will other people always fill it up?
Written 27 October 2023
You can get a private pod, booked in advance on the website. Good news is you'll get free entry to winter wonderland that way, bad news is that's because the private pod price is 48-78 quid depending on time and if you want fast track entry.

Hi,
Am I allowed to bring christmas gifts in for my friends I am meeting in winter wonderland?
Written 11 December 2022
I think this would be allowed but you probably won’t be allowed if they are wrapped and it can’t be verified what the item is. Every bag is subject to search. It’s evident they are looking for alcohol, drugs and weapons.
