Neighbourhood: Shoreditch
The western front of the edgy East End, Shoreditch is a perennially trendy haven for anything “street” – be it art, food, or fashion. With its handful of well connected transportation links dotting its perimeter, along with an ever increasing variety of shops, hotels, bars, and restaurants, it's easy to explore this trend-conscious and youth-oriented neighbourhood. There's a lingering post-industrial grit about Shoreditch, but because it shares a border with “The City” financial district, the influence from its upscale neighbour can result in fascinating outcomes.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Massive MICE problem. We were sitting in Florica and in the space of 35 minutes we had 5 mice run past our feet. Yet they couldn’t refund our deposit and were still serving food! Disgusting

Went here with a few friends and despite the bar being absolutely empty our three (overpriced) Blue Lagoon cocktails all looked completely different shades of blue and tasted completely differently! Additionally, our friends gin and tonic (again overpriced) tasted only of tonic and sugar?!
When a member of our party politely approached the bar to let them know about this they were faced with an unbelievably rude and unprofessional attitude - complete disregard and disrespect for their customers and overall horrible service.
I will never be returning here and strongly encourage anyone who is thinking about to reconsider immediately!

Prebooked a table for hen party at a cost and had to email several times to pre-order some drinks to have on the table for when we arrived.
Arrived after 10pm and had to pay entry at £5pp. Then got in to realise the table wasn't reserved, people were sat at it and had spilled their drinks. They got moved but the table wasn't wiped and there weren't enough chairs, and drinks pre-ordered were not ready.
This did get sorted but was a really underwhelming start to our experience at Floripa. I have emailed since to complain and had no response.
Aside from this, this music was great all night and people in there were really friendly which mainly recovered the early fails.

If youre looking for a place to avoid the pretentious and ridiculous one in one out queues without compromising on atmosphere, music and good times then Floripa is the place for you.
I can tell you, and im not embarrassed by this, that I have been to Floripa nearly 50 times. The crowd varies each week in terms of personnel but not in terms of attitudes to have a good time.
Floripa is for the edgy London gent who wants more than a dancefloor and music so loud you cant talk to anyone. Its for the people who stand against pretentious venues, its for the people who are willing to break the status quo of a typical night club and say "this night out is what I make it".
Key facts:
- Strong boy:girl ratio (slightly more girls on Saturday)
- Never queue for more than 5 mins (typically arrive at around 11:30pm)
- Never queue for drinks
- Never had any trouble
- Never ever not pulled

I've previously visited several times in 2014/15 and had had a great time, unfortunately this experience was far from that.
For the £10 entrance fee and £12.50 for a single spiced rum and coke prices you might be mistaken that you were going somewhere grander and more fun and exclusive- this is not the case and it certainly shouldn't be such a stretch for the staff to not be so rude.
The music was standard Saturday night fodder badly mixed. If I hadn't been here for someone else's birthday I would have left promptly.
What a shame that this venue has become so distinctly average and now relies on a tourist crowd as customers are clearly not returning.

The bar looks great, a nice vibe. But It was really busy, obviously this is a sign its probably a good place. The problem was the staff, especially the bar staff who had a real attitude problem. The friendliest member of staff was the freshen up man in the gents who sang a great song about cleaning floor!

In response to your reply I have to state that the lady who made the group booking told us that it was a charity evening in aid of Children of the Andes. We were told there was a meal, musicians, dancing and salsa lessons. We believed we had the table for the whole evening and had no idea there were two sittings. This is why some people left the table for some fresh air. Clearly this was not your fault. However it would have been nice if a member of staff would have advised us our session was nearly over, instead of just moving people's belongings. I eat out a lot, as you can see from Trip Advisor. I still maintain that the staff were rude and the food mediocre I would not recommend your restaurant.

Paid £5 entry fee. The place is a big all with a tropical motif. The bar is big and service is fairly snappy. The DJ is pretty decent but not terribly progressive. This place is for the tourists and after-workers. Drinks are sold at average central London prices. Staff are a bit brusque. Not my top choice for the night, but not the worst place you could end up. There are better places in Shoreditch, though.

The place looks nice but I ordered a Colada for 12.5£ to get a very sweet drink with Bacardi instead of the rhum written on the menu and served in a small plastic cup

Horrific £42 for 4 watered down drinks ina place that's dead. If the drinks were half the price this place could be bouncing. Absolutely dire
