I went to Voluptease, the afternoon tea service at Steam and Rye and I have to say it was the best afternoon out I have had in a long time! Amazing cocktails to start - a show in itself with fire etc. Then a fabulous cabaret, burlesque show - we oh'd and ah'd at the beauty, the art and then... More

Took a friend for afternoon tea for her 60th Birthday. Wasn't sure if we were a bit too old for this type of show but definitely not.We had an absolute ball! There was a huge chocie of cocktails (the chilli gin one is a must!), the food was excellent and the service would put many 5-star restaurants to shame. Great... More

Took my wife as a birthday present. I was very relieved that we both thought it was fabulous. It was the first time either of us had been to a burlesque show. I doubt it will be the last. The staff were very welcoming and made us feel quite special - always a good sign. The venue is fairly intimate.... More

Fantastic day out, sceptical at what to expect but it knocked most other days out we have tried into a 'cock hat' so to speak. Amazing show, afternoon tea which was scummy and the entertainers where brilliant. I must especially give 5*'s the the guy on the piano ( so sorry forgot your name) but he was brilliant - reminded... I treated my darling sister to Volupte for her birthday. What a fabulous afternoon. The staff were fantastic, treated us as if we were the only people there, our waitress was charming. The afternoon tea was the best I have ever had, beautiful bread, different types of bread. The scones were warm and homemade cakes with a beautiful lemon and... More

My wife & I had booked a week end in town having purchased tickets for a Muse concert. For a different evening we booked a meal & show here on the Friday night (late show). Starting with cocktails in their bar next door, menus delivered, food/wine chosen, we were seated downstairs. The show was very good (James Bond theme), plenty... More

My wife bought me a voucher as a surprise Xmas present for us to go for the afternoon tea(se) experience. It was certainly a surprise present and something to look forward to, so we factored it into a weekend away in London. Although we did not necessarily fully dress up for the occasion based on the period, we soon got... More

the food was lovely, the drinks good too and we all enjoyed the show. it is what it is - it's burlesque with some comedy thrown in. the acts were very inventive - some sexier than others. if you're after a different night out then suggest that you try this out.

I have been to Volupte about 5 times Always had a very good cabaret experience. Top Burlesque acts, and quality variety. Last night, with a new menu, the food experience rocketed. I used to think of it as a cabaret experience with food.. It is now a place to eat with intimate cabaret and all-round good fun. I'll be back!

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
