Bread Angels

Bread Angels

About
Bread Angels are a network of award winning bakers who teach a range of excellent bread baking classes all over the UK - not just London! We have everything from a basic bread course to specialty courses in, for example Italian, Gluten Free, or Spelt/Rye bread. We also have a full day sourdough bread course as well as also have seasonal bread courses - check out the Christmas or Easter courses when the time comes. You do not require any experience to do any of our classes. Classes are small (maximum 6 people), intimate and super fun and informative. Students have a great time, receive plenty of individual attention, and leave feeling uplifted and confident. Prices vary, and include expert tuition, recipes and notes, lunch, teas and coffees and plenty of bread to take home. It's a bit confusing that the phone number is in Mexico, I know! But please whatsapp it or e mail us we promise we will get right back to you!

I have found baking sough dough bread a bit of a nightmare , in fact I’d given up. But I got the birthday present of a days training with Liz at Ma Bakers and it has been a revelation. No secret recipes just good honest techniques with the right ingredients. Liz’s organisation is superb and there is never a moment when you are not engaged with preparing and baking the different breads ( except at lunch time when she laid on a delicious spread).I could not recommend her course highly enough.

Liz Wilson’s two day micro bakery course was excellent. Liz was generous with her knowledge and experience setting up her successful microbakery. Our group of four produced an impressive array of bread over an enjoyable two days and had ample opportunities to work through and discuss all aspects of setting up a microbakery business. Would highly recommend.

What a great day with Di and the "underbaker" at her home, the Aston Parish Bakery. This was a little bit of a refresher course for me as I hadn't made bread for a few years and it did not disappoint. I was made to feel very welcome from the start and the course was very useful with lots of tips and hints that has inspired me to dust off my dough scraper! We made Pain Rustique, a traditional bread bread, no knead foccacia and a challah, all turned out perfectly and were eagerly devoured by the family when i returned home. After the baking I was treated to a lovely lunch in Di and Max's garden which was a perfect end to a perfect day.

I had a wonderful couple of days learning with Alexandra Vaughan of the Crow's Rest Bakehouse in Wakefield. Alexandra was kind, patience and so generous with her time, knowledge and experience - it was a real privilege to learn with her. We made loads of fantastic bread, and Alexandra shared lots of really invaluable information and her own experiences as a baker and a businesswoman. The experience has really helped me to consolidate and build upon my existing experience, deepen and expand my knowledge, and, perhaps most importantly for me, has really lifted my confidence in running my own microbakery. Thankyou so much.

A huge thank you to Juli Farkas for the most wonderful day of delicious bread! I recently attended her one-day sourdough bread making course and learned to make 4 different breads - all absolutely delicious. The course was very well organised, highly informative and full of invaluable tips throughout. I have since made the various loaves at home following Juli's detailed guidance and notes and am thrilled with the results. I will definitely be continuing with making bread regularly at home now, to the delight of the family and friends. Thank you!

Best baking class I have ever taken! Liz was such a kind and wonderful teacher. She was so knowledgeable and passionate about baking and answered all our questions on breadmaking. The class was extremely well organized, with wonderful flow, and we got to make so many different types of bread! During times we were waiting for the bread to rise, she provided us with tea and snacks, and Liz was incredibly warm and hospitable. Throughout our hands-on lesson, she provided helpful tips on kneading techniques and shaping techniques. She provided us with printed recipes on the various breads that we made. I found the recipes to be extremely easy to follow and bake at home! I left feeling very confident in my skills and inspired to improve my own baking. I also left with a lot of delicious bread to share with friends and family! I would highly recommend this class to anyone interested in breadmaking, both at home or professionally!! This was definitely the highlight of our trip in London!

The Micro Bakery course with Liz was amazing! I was welcomed into Liz’s home and taught how to make delicious bread, all whilst learning how to set up a micro bakery of my own. Liz has such an engaging manner as a teacher - calm and relaxed and the transitions from one recipe to another were seamless. I left feeling full of optimism for my new venture and would recommend the course to anyone with a passion for good bread.

It started with completing the sourdough course with Ma Baker (Liz Wilson) several years ago that sparked my interest so finding some time on my hands I embarked on the virtual Start your Own Microbakery course. The course is full of interesting facts and the videos are a great way of interaction. It was nice to do it at my own pace although it would have probably been nice to have some co-learners. It is well structured and I feel confident to be let out into the community.

I had been recommended to the bread baking course with Di by a friend who had already done it and loved it! I then was gifted the course for Christmas by my other half. The day was great, we learnt how to make four different breads, and recipes for different styles etc. Di welcomed us all into her home and it was such a relaxing and "homely" day - felt like I had popped over to see family! We had a great lunch too!
Thank you Di, I will be baking bread as often as I can!
