Robin was our guide and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. It takes 2h and involves walking through the city, so wear sensible shoes. The tour was interesting but I did not care about the shop where the Queen buys her hats but you never know when this kind of knowledge comes in handy.

Great afternoon tour of the City of London. Lots of gems hidden away from the main streets. If you have a couple of hours to kill on a Sunday afternoon, then I can't recommend this highly enough. Brilliant

This was called Secret Walking Tour but it wasn't for free. It cost 12 pounds to go on this tour which took 1.5 hours. It was fascinating going to places that I had never see before, like the smallest police station in Trafalgar Square, and other places, which I won't mention otherwise it spoils the secret. We had a guy... More

We went on the Royal London tour with Robin and had an excellent morning. The tour lasts approximately 2 hours and takes in the Changing of the Guards, St James' Palace as well as other notable London landmarks. We had a great time and Robin was very friendly and professional, providing us with lots of interesting facts and stories which... More

Gary was a fantastic tour guide. He introduced himself individually to everyone and was interested in where we were from. I've lived in London for 11 years and spent much of the 2 hours amazed at the hidden history of the city. He was enthusiastic and breathed to life some of the history of the city with a Shakespeare soliloquy... More

We went on Royal London and changing of the guards tour with Robin. Fantastic! We saw the guards twice without crowds and saw/heard the Calvary marching band. Learned loads of facts and history from our former history teacher guide!! Really enjoyed the walk, he even kept the attention of my 14 yr old! So glad I convinced her to go... More

We visited London for 5 days & are soooo glad we did the East London free food tour with Jessica on Saturday, 17/12/16. Our group had about 10 people in it. Jessica gave a fascinating description of the immigrant waves that came to East London & their influences on the food culture of London. We tasted mince pies, samosas, fish... More

Our guide was American John and he was hands down one of the best tour guides! Not only was he well informed, his enthusiasm really made the tour a wonderful one. I forgot the name of the tour I went on but we began by the Winston Churchill statue just across from the Palace of Westminster. From there, we went... More

Staying in Westminster

Neighbourhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
