Stratford Railway Station has a shopping centre on either side of it. There is Westfield which is super fancy and a bit pricey or there is the Stratford Centre which is a much reasonably priced shopping centre. The Straford Centre has the bus station outside it as well as the railway station which has trains from East Anglia, Essex, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire. It's also served by the Docklands Light Railway and the Central and Jubilee Lines. The shopping centre has a variety of shops, supermarkets, bank and eating places. As it is quite a decent sized place it is busy so try and stay safe and socially distanced.…

Wouldn’t shop here, literally walk through from the station to the pub! The place is usually packed with people looking for a bargain! It’s a lot more down market than Westfield! I’m no snob but it just doesn’t appeal to me. And there are so many homeless people that sleep here at night. Nothing at all against the homeless and at least it’s somewhere dry for them to sleep. …

Stratford Centre is the original shopping centre in Stratford and much smaller than the new and shiny Stratford Westfield. However, this place still has a great vibe and has kept the authentic east london experience. The centre hosts a number of high street stores and along the middle has market traders, selling fruit and veg and bargain clothes. There is a large centre in the middle that leads off to different areas of the town centre - North, East, South and West. Once stepping out of the shopping centre you are in the main Stratford Town which hosts a number of high street stores and has independent stalls. Along the side of the shopping centre is a Market Village - small stalls and fast food restaurants, and plenty of barbers shops - a great authentic experience of the east end of London - away from the high end of Stratford Westfield. We did a video walking through the shopping centre, showing the shops, fast food restaurants, and market area. You can find it on our YouTube channel, search YouTube for - Geek Street Travels and don’t forget to like and subscribe. Plus follow our travel pictures on Instagram, search Geekstreettravels.…
