Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I wasn't sure what to expect but it was fascinating. The two guides, Jonathan and Marianne, were excellent. Marianne was particularly good and made it interesting and Jonathan provided light relief! The two hours flew by. Would not recommend for young children as they would get bored. Also you would have to be pretty steady on your feet as you are walking on lots of different surfaces. Have already recommended to lots of friends.

However, we went to the last tour of the year and as there is a baby on the way, Jonathan and Marianne, are not sure when it will restart. When it does, go!

We had a great time discovering new neighbourhoods and history lessons through this tour! A nice option for a visitor to London, or for anyone who has spent lots of time in the city but wants to learn about something different. Great value for money!

We really enjoyed the Plague Tour, the guides were fab, so informative and interesting. It was 2 hours very well spent, so glad we decided to take the tour gave a real insight into this grim part of history.

I went on this tour after reading some of the other reviews on Tripadvisor and was not disappointed. The tour was informative, fun, and fascinating. It was well-paced and we saw a range of sights and hidden plauge-related landmarks that I'd never have seen otherwise. I was travelling solo and Marianne and Jonathan both made a special point to engage in conversation with me during the tour, which I really appreciated. An absolute must-do, I've been recommending the tour to everyone I've spoken to. Thanks for a great afternoon!

Our family with teenagers enjoyed this two hour walking tour through parts of London affected by outbreaks of plague, starting near the Roman wall at Tower Hill. Jonathan and Marianne are a great team at providing information and bringing to life how people felt as their world seemed to be falling apart from the Black Death. Despite the dark subject matter they inject humor and energy into the tour. This is no dry, technical exposition and, as someone working in public health, I appreciated their approach. They were very good at engaging children in the group and evoking laughter despite the subject matter. (Obviously, there is discussion of disease and death, and so parents of young children may want to consider suitability for their kids based on this.)

I highly recommend this very reasonably priced tour as a tremendous value. The tour runs on Saturday afternoons starting at 2 pm. We actually reconfigured our travel dates to catch this and were not disappointed!

We chose this based on the reviews and were not disappointed. The tour is very I formative interspersed with fun drama along the way which really brings the history alive. The group size is small which makes it easy to hear the talks at the various stops and to chat to the guides. I would certainly recommend!
