- ShaunH290London, United Kingdom2,329 contributionsGreat Place for Photos! The Japanese or Kyoto Garden is a fenced garden within the much larger Holland Park. Even in February (the coldest month in London), it is worth a visit if you are in the area. Very atmospheric - and a great place for photos!Visited February 2023Written 21 March 2023
- h0rsey1Wivenhoe, United Kingdom7 contributionsLittle bit of PeaceSmall but beautiful and very peaceful. Visited on a weekday morning during school holidays. Loved the fact you have to walk to the garden which makes it a haven away from traffic. Waterfall with resident heron. Lovely Japanese design-well worth a visit. Nice cafe nearby.Visited August 2023Travelled soloWritten 9 August 2023
- Chris R69 contributionsHow could I possibly not know this existed!Such a wonderful surprise! After looking online for things to do outdoors in London we decided to visit Holland Park, in particular the Kyoto Gardens. Absolutely beautiful! Wonderful sculptures, water fountains, huge fish and other wildlife, flowers, trees - simply a perfect garden in the middle of London! We had planned to visit Notting Hill afterwards as it is one stop away on the tube but Holland Park is so enormous we ran out of time. What a great way to spend a sunny day!Visited September 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 8 September 2023
- Rami MakiUnited Kingdom42 contributionsA tranquil oasisA tranquil oasis that transports visitors to the serenity of Japanese landscapes. The carefully curated garden features traditional elements like a cascading waterfall, vibrant koi ponds, and meticulously pruned Japanese maple trees. The peaceful atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for reflection and relaxation. While relatively small, the attention to detail and harmonious design create a captivating escape from the bustling city surroundings. The presence of peacocks adds an unexpected touch of wildlife to the experience. Kyoto Garden is a hidden gem for those seeking a moment of Zen in the heart of London. Restrooms There were several restrooms that were around and easier to find. It was quite a good feature given that not all public parks have a toilet available Dog-friendliness There were many owners and dogs walking through that seemed to be contempt with everything. The area did have dedicated areas for dogs only should they wish to dedicate or stay for a longer period of time. Picnic area There was more than enough spaces with quite the breathtaking view to just sit down, relax, take in the view and enjoy a meal. I would definitely recommend to friends, couples and families looking to have a nice day out in good weather,Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 16 January 2024

Lovely Japanese garden within Holland Park tranquil & peaceful but tiny! Took couple minutes to walk around, fine if you are in the area but not worth a special journey.
A good 15 minute walk from Holland Park tube.

This garden is beautifully cared for and very popular in the lovely Holland Park. It is also full of appreciating Japanese tourists. I enjoyed the garden a lot.

I think the garden is beautiful and unique looking, it’s just a shame it’s so tiny and takes like 10 mins to see.

It was a lovely park, peaceful and not at all busy. I was surprised at how big Holland Park was as a whole, lo Ely place to visit alone or with family

I would say Westfield and then used contactless to use the underground for the day and make a whole day out of it in London ... presuming you’re not from London - as you have a car ;)

Not sure what your interests are? However, The Design Museum attached to the park. The Natural History and V&A Museum nearby. Kensington Palace, Kensington Gardens. The Serpentine, for a chill out, or if feeling energetic hire a rowing boat. I could go on, but google map the area to see what appeals to you, enjoy.
