Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a day. Booked 2 hours of Paintball for a large group for a 26th Birthday. We all enjoyed the close quarters, intense warfare. I'd strongly recommend this place for hardcore, adrenalin junkie, paintballers.
Special shout out to Kieran, Adam, and Ryan who looked after us for the day. They brought humour and fun to the group but were clear on instructions to ensure everyone was safe at all times. In addition, they were honest with the group in securing us a better deal when we consumed a lot of paintballs which we really appreciated and respected.
Areas for improvement would be to have a second map. We played in the same space for the 2 hours and whilst it was a great space, it would would have a little more variety.
Thank you Bunker 51!

So pleased to hear you had a great time playing with us!
We do try ensure that those who book a 2 hour session get play on both arenas, however are unable to guarantee this due to other bookings we may have on the day.
Your kind comments have been passed on to the team and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

I booked for a team building event 1h of laser tag: my team is made of people from different ages and background, but everyone really enjoyed the experience and had lots of fun. We had the space for ourselves and room is not small at all, but I guess it might be crowd if you play with others.
Louise really helped to organise it and then was an excellent host.
Yep, floor is slippery and you need coins for the lockers, but if you get there prepared the whole experience is worthy.

We went as a group of 2 adults and 2 teenagers. You can have a lot of energised fun there and it suited us because there were activities that adults and teenagers can relate to.
We took part in the Air Soft experience which was marshalled by Jaden. He brilliantly explained safety measures and how the games worked. He also added entertaining voice prompts to our session. The Air Soft experience made me feel like I was the lead actress in an action movie! They have drinks you pay for, loos and some parking spaces.

This review is for Airsoft, the future and growth of our sport/game and how important it is for first time players to have a positive experience. I’ve given two stars based on the overall experience at Bunker 51 in relation to the above.
This is a good venue but the lead Marshall was extremely unprofessional which will be a barrier for any repeat customers. Yelling, threatening to kick people out, stating that he has PTSD triggers and he’s prone to episodes, having said ‘episode’ and blood curdling yelling…. Why so angry? This was highly unsettling. This is a game/sport of fun. There is a more professional approach here to make your patrons feel comfortable.
For example; if hits are not being called, instead of ‘screaming’ and threatening simply restate ‘hits need to be called please.’ Also as a Marshall, please assume some might be wearing body armor, have minor grazes to baggy clothing, etc, and can’t feel said hits -sometimes- and ask for teammates to make others aware of said hits. Do not yell scream and threaten to ban or put people in the cold on the first instance. Yes, this happened on the first complaint after a match!
Imagine if this was your first time playing. This is not good for the sport and to build interest/expansion.
Another example; someone’s flashbang went missing within 10 minutes of a match’s end. The yelling Marshall went into a scream rant about kicking people out, yet again. The flashbang was found 5 minutes later. This does not need to be communicated in this way.
Bunker 51, as a venue, needs to address the customer relation situation here and be aware that new/newer players will be turned off by this type of behavior as your Marshalls are forward facing for your business. Behavior like this makes the whole experience uncomfortable and more importantly, not very fun.

We agree with you that the behaviour described is unprofessional and would be off-putting to new players to the sport, which is of course not our aim at all and is not typical behaviour of the staff member in question.
Our marshals do have to shout to be heard sometimes, but this should not be in an aggressive manner at all, and a missing pyrotechnic is a safety concern but the situation absolutely should have been handled better. We have high visibility clothing and flashing armbands available for our team in order to be visible and reduce being accidentally shot, and it was a poor decision by the staff member to not have worn these and to be standing in a bad position.
A progress review and further training is being undertaken to ensure this doesn't happen again, and we are very sorry this was your experience with us.

Unfortunately I received an email the day before we were due to go saying they had to cancel due to an electrical fault.
I asked for a full refund, they replied saying I should receive it within 7 days that was a month ago.
I have tried to contact them over the phone but I can’t get through

We are so sorry we had to cancel your session at such short notice, due to reasons beyond our control.
Unfortunately, the fault we experienced last much longer and caused more disruption to our small business than we could have anticipated and is still affecting our phone lines.
We have been processing refunds as fast as we can and whilst we try to process refunds in 7 days, due to the volume required we are working within our company policy of 30 days. If you get in touch with our team with your booking reference number, they can check with our accounts team to give you an update.
You can contact our team on 07703 884 638, at bookings@ultimaterecreation.co.uk or via our online chat.

We have just had a party for my son at Bunker51. It is in the middle of no-where so unless you are local to Greenwich, i would not recommend. Several of our party did not make it because of bad traffic which must happen a lot but the venue were unsympathetic in terms of the group costs. The place itself is underwhelming. The lasertag area is not like the pictures, if you do go watch out on the floor, its incredibly slippery. We were meant to be a party of 15, with an hours play but still the kids had to share the room with an older group of boys. Our party had fun, the Mess room is handy but the food and party bags leave a lot to be desired. For the price and the main venue for this type of activity in London, I expected more.

We are sorry to hear you were disappointed by some elements of your visit, but pleased to hear the party had fun!
Unfortunately, we can't refund tickets for those that run very late. We are a small capacity venue and don't do walk-ins (in part due to our location), so have no opportunity to resell the spaces on the day. I understand it is frustrating when people can't make it, but this is beyond our control. We ask all customers to arrive 30minutes early so have some leeway before the session starts and do everything we can to get latecomers started as quickly as possible so any game time left can be used, and also accommodate by overrunning if we can, but only if this doesn't impact other groups later in the day.
We try to make it very clear on our party package webpage, as well as highlight this twice during the booking journey, that the activity session is public and mixed ages, but the party room is a private space for your group afterwards.
Regarding the arena not looking how you expected, we have 2 arenas so perhaps some of the features you expected were not located on the arena you played in. All the images on our website are of our venue and there have been no significant changes made since they were taken.
You comments regarding the food and party bags inclusions have been passed on the Operations Manager to review, as feedback on these are usually positive.

This is just a review of the Zombie Escape Room, and the Laser Tag.
The positives:
The concept is good: solving puzzles to find the card to open the exit door before a zombie catches you.
Food was nice enough and was served well, by a friendly staff member.
Cold soft drinks were readily available, which were welcome after running around for the laser tag.
At the end of each laser tag round, a member of staff gave results for highest score, most accurate, etc., and that was entertaining.
The negatives:
In the zombie escape room, there were far too many people in such a small environment. There were eight of us, plus the ‘Professor’ and the zombie. This was made worse when the zombie’s chain extended.
The zombie – who acted his part well – was too intense. He was too dramatic, and the team couldn’t think or converse easily to solve the puzzles.
There was very little logic to the puzzles, and they no real sequence; it just seemed to be solving a mismatch of puzzles in the vain hope of achieving or acquiring something which may or may not help.
One of the puzzles didn’t even seem to have any benefit, so why was it there?
A day or so after the event, Bunker 51 emailed the players asking for feedback, and sent a photograph of their team , but it seems some people were sent the wrong photo and, despite asking more than once for the correct photo, they have still not received it.
To be completely honest, the whole thing seemed a bit haphazard overall, and not a venue that we would recommend.

Booked for Aug - I received an email the day of my booking when I had already arrived in London saying they had to cancel due to an electrical fault. I asked for a full refund, which they agreed to but that was over two months ago and I still have yet to receive it! They say the reason for the delay is the number of refunds they can do a week is limited. My emails are now not being replied to.

One of the best indoor Airsoft experience I ever had! The safety is very strict and it's a good thing! Very wholesome community, I made new friends there!
The only cons is the rentals weapon and gear. The overall doesn't do much in ammo storage and M4s for rents are a real struggle to use. Difficult to remove mags and sometimes doesn't function. I guess it encourages players to get their own gear in the future but it would be nice to have it functional.
That said, the winning point for this place is the community and safety!
Anyone should come and join!

We love airsoft and we love to see airsofters supporting each other (as much as you can when simultaneously shooting at each other)! Safety is absolutely our priority and we are thrilled to hear we have managed to create a supportive, safe and welcoming environment.
We appreciate the feedback about the rental equipment and it is an issue we are trying to resolve on multiple fronts. The issue we have with the mags is unfortunately they often get dropped and with heavy use, we can go from having a good stock to a lot of damaged ones in the space of a weekend! We are trying lots of different options to see if we can find a system that reduces damage or a mag that can withstand being dropped repeatedly on concrete.

Would highly recommend this place , good staff there with good banter. Man like William is a legend he made the experience that bit better by making us all feel involved and he even got shot in the neck I know that’s gonna be hard to explain to the missus. 😂 but yeah 100% looking to go back in the coming weeks. 👌🏽

Written 20 March 2020
Yes - you are allowed providing they meet the site specifications. Please contact them and they can let you know the specification or they check the weapons on arrival.

Your gun probably won’t connect with their system.
So I wouldn’t think so.

Can you tell me what is the best way to get to bunker 51 by public transport from Central London?
Written 2 January 2018
Hi Chris,
Nikky here from Bunker 51. There are a couple options about reaching us by public transport. You can go to Charlton Station and we're a roughly 15 minute walk. Or you can go to Greenwich Underground and catch any bus from Bus Stop A (either the 161 or 472) to Woolwich Road/Charlton Lane bus stop and we're a short walk down near the Thames Barrier.

Hi there,
Nikky here from Bunker 51.
We have street parking available around the venue. I will warn that it can be quite busy on Saturdays and Sundays, however. But there's usually space to park!

Hi, I was thinking to book this for my boyfriend and I (and saw on your review that you and your boyfriend went). How does it work for couples? I assume you get paired up with other people that are there? Or did you go in a bigger group? Thank you in advance!
Written 12 October 2017
we went in a larger group for a stag do. but we established how it works (for laser tag, at least. this may not be the case for paintball or airsoft)
with lasertag they gather everybody from all groups together between rounds tell you what the game is, then the computer system that your bodypacks communicates with tells everybody what team they were on for this round.
i think this could be fun as a couple, first you may be together, then the next round some friendly rivalry will surface. don't, however, expect to be next to each other, these games do not cater to people who want to hang out with each other. i didn't see half of my party except when we were in the briefings between rounds.
hope this helps
