We had a great evening wandering through parts of London we were familiar with but had never really paid attention to before. We were on the Charles Dickens walk, with a flavour of A Christmas Carol but including lots of other Dickens mentions and a great deal of historical knowledge thrown in.
Andrew was an excellent guide and easily answered any questions we had.
Our favourite part was a quick chance stop in the 900 year old church of St Bartholomew The Great. They were getting ready for A Christmas Carol themed performance and the hosts were so welcoming even though we were just passing through. The church has also featured in a number of movies for those interested in more modern events.
We also enjoyed the mince pie and gluhwein looking up at St Paul’s.
Would highly recommend and you don’t even need to be a Dickens buff.

Dickens at Christmas
What an interesting and enjoyable walk with Andrew. Our imaginations were stirred by Andrew's tour and knowledge and the London that Dickens would have known could be seen and felt. Hidden London yards, alleyways and streets that Dickens would have walked and locations woven into his stories. Beautiful churches to admire with amazing histories (and some with quite recent claims to fame). The organisation of the walk is excellent and I would definitely recommend concluding your walk with a meal as Andrew's choice of pubs is always interesting.

I booked a bespoke walking tour for colleagues to recognise Mental Health Awareness Week. On the day in question, it was drizzling as we bravely set off on our walk around Soho. Unfortunately, before we had got very far, the heavens opened and we had to shelter in a nearby church to avoid getting soaked. It didn't look like it was going to stop anytime soon, so Andrew suggested we return to the office and postpone for another date. This I did and happily we were able to rearrange the date at no extra cost.

Andrew is an excellent guide. So informative, knowledgeable and interesting. His colleague Malcom accompanied us and both made friendly and interesting walking companions, who looked after the group and ensured everyone was included. I would really recommend Walking London to anyone looking for a tailored walking tour.

Six of us did the Kites, Camden & Little Venice tour with Andy at the weekend and once again he fully delivered. Andy is a very knowledgeable guide, absolutely first class, its a relaxed tour with so much of interest to see and hear about. My husband and I have done several walks with him and they are just the best, this time we brought four friends with us and they too are now hooked and want to do all the other tours too. Thank you & see you again very soon Andy!

What an amazing tour! It was exactly what I wanted and more. Hidden alleyways, old pubs and churches Dickens would have frequented, and so many fantastic stories. I loved this and it was such a great insight into the City of London as well, which I knew is packed with secrets and interesting stories. Andrew is such an amazing guide. Both he and Malcolm are so knowledgeable and with a great sense of humour. We didn't even have to worry about taking pictures! They did that for us too and sent them to us after the tour, so we could just relax and enjoy every part of the walk and every amazing story.
Thank you and see you again soon! ;)

Andrew was a great teller of the stories from Dickens books about the city of London.
He showed us hidden gems in alleys, wonderful old churches, places where his characters frequented and brought London to life during Victorian times. His knowledge was excellent. I would strongly recommend this 2.5 hour tour.

I don't often write reviews but felt I had to after enjoying such a great walking tour with Andrew yesterday. His knowledge range was vast and he made the tour so interesting with lots of different tales and history. I can highly recommend the walking tour from Kings Cross along the Regents Canal ending up at Little Venice. I am looking forward to joining another tour with Andrew soon.

Today Beverley and I travelled from Surrey to meet Andrew at Kings Cross for a walking tour along the Regents Canal to Little Venice. The tour was so well conducted with very interesting information regarding the history, the present and future of the area we walked. We were kept safe along the canal route and it was all easy walking. Truely blessed with a beautiful sunny dry Spring day giving the view from the top of Primrose Hill such a clear picture of the new and old London below. It was stunning. This is an area that niether of us had visited before and are both keen to visit again. We are both keen to try further walks offered by Battlefield Journey and will definitely recommend Andrew and his team to family and friends. Thank you so much.

A fascinating tour walking in the footsteps of Charles Dickens which reawakened my interest in the author and has prompted me to add a couple of his novels to my list of books to read. The walk was followed by lunch in a beautiful pub in the city of London. Thanks so much to Andrew for yet another fascinating exploration of some of the hidden parts of our capital city.
