This Livery Company is in the City of London close to the Thames. I was there to ........ sample wine! As a building there are some impressive rooms but all rather similar to that you would see in a Northern Town Hall. There is lots of history explained going back to the 1300s although most of the building is far more recent. Also a small collection of silverware is on display but not really described adequately. I was glad to visit but would not think it was worth making a special trip.

The most splendid evening imaginable! First a tour of the Hall with fabulous ceilings, pictures and pieces of history. Then a never to be repeated tasting of 8 wines from Avery’s of Bristol family cellars. Gems of great vintage and quality that no amount of money can buy. Finally a glorious dinner by Searcy’s with 6 wines then Croft port. A true privilege to be there with memories forever.

We have been to most of the Livery Companies over the years but not to the Vintners'. It was a very good evening. The building was very interesting, the staff very attentive and friendly. The waiting staff were all friendly and efficient. We were royally looked after by all. The food and drink were good. Well worth going out on a very cold night to attend. We were not disappointed.

A most spectacular Livery Hall. We always enjoy this event as we can expect excellent service, food and of course wines.
