The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Shoreditch
The western front of the edgy East End, Shoreditch is a perennially trendy haven for anything “street” – be it art, food, or fashion. With its handful of well connected transportation links dotting its perimeter, along with an ever increasing variety of shops, hotels, bars, and restaurants, it's easy to explore this trend-conscious and youth-oriented neighbourhood. There's a lingering post-industrial grit about Shoreditch, but because it shares a border with “The City” financial district, the influence from its upscale neighbour can result in fascinating outcomes.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I love the performances I see at The Glory, the artists are awesome. This is why it makes me sad to leave such a bad review. We arrived at a ticketed event (booked via Outsavvy) and were told we couldn't go in because the venue was too full and it was 'one in one out'. Why doesn't The Glory manage this, to ensure that they can accommodate the people who want to see a specific show? Some folks stood outside the whole evening.
I was lucky enough to be able to enter the venue, but inside there was hardly any seating and the stage was impossible to see. It really isn't an accessible venue - you had to wade through a crowd to get to a bathroom (which is up stairs).
The sodas on tap were watered down, the wine was lukewarm. Overall: disappointing.

Bouncers charge £10 each for entry which has to be cash so not sure how much of that gets declared?! Bar staff were indifferent and unwelcoming. Upstairs is packed and very hot but play decent mix of old and new pop. Downstairs dingy dance floor. Toilets were filthy. Drag acts were rubbish - just tended to swan around and drink with friends at the bar.
This is an average edgy gay pub that they have the cheek to charge entry for.

Went for St. Patrick’s Day - definitely not recommended. Nothing Irish themed about the evening and the guest list person at the door was very rude. Will never go back.

A glorified pub that charges £10 cash on the door for entry. For the price I would have expected drag queens, great music and a good vibe. Instead, we were faced with a cringe worthy playlist from the 80’s and an odour of the urinals throughout the bar. The £10 entry fee had to be paid in cash which went straight into the bouncers pocket. Avoid at all costs

A beguiling, alternative London gay bar. We didn’t feel cool enough but had a good time watching Drag-A-Long’s Wicked. The cocktail I ordered was mind-blowingly strong, haha.

The staff were doing shots at the bar, and then kept walking off. We waited so long to get a drink that we just left - it was impossible to get served. The venue is very small, the music wasn’t very loud and it was packed. Avoid

A queer pub with a very special atmosphere - go there if you fancy a drink in a queer friendly space. Check out what's on beforehand as you may find something interesting!

Our first time in a gay venue in a year and a half. The door staff were rude, ignorant, and ageist and we were charged £12 for two tumblers of body temperature piss-poor wine. I'd rather hammer nails into my face than visit this god-awful pub again.

The rudest, most unwelcoming staff I have ever encountered, from start to finish. Even when we ignored it and responded cheerfully and tipped them they continued to behave awfully.

wonderful venue, gorgeous staff, what more is there to say? I love this pub - wonderfully queer and they are not embarrassed to shout it loud and clear.
