I went along with my husband and teenage daughter, I have hardly any experience in photography. Not only was Patrick very knowledgeable, he was also very personable and patient. He first assessed our individual levels and needs and explained the basics before taking us to Borough Market to put in practice what we had learned. He spent time with each of us to explain how we could improve our pictures. Before I knew it I was hooked, We did the tour on my birthday weekend and I am now the proud owner of my own camera (birthday present) and practicing whenever I can. I can’t wait to be back in London for the next lesson. Another plus, our teenage daughter also enjoyed it and would also love to learn more.

Was worried how a normally effortlessly grumpy teenager and unenthusiastic better half would react to the course but I stressed needlessly! They LOVED it!
Patrick was very adept at tailoring his tuition to our individual needs and ensured we ALL benefited and progressed at our own pace! Very charming, very knowledgeable, infinitely patient, well thought out, logical lesson structure.
Will DEFINITELY be back for additional courses as such good fun and value for money too! Stop reading and just BOOK!!!

I wanted to start using manual mode with my SLR and had no idea what I was doing. I have been an amateur photographer most of my life, but wanted to improve every aspect of what I was doing.
Patrick made the tour entertaining and so easy to understand. I've been enjoying practicing every day after work since, and am feeling more confident all the time.
Once I nail the basics, I'll definitely be signing up for more tours.

Originally from London but now living in Sydney,
my partner and I travelled back to London to bring the kids to meet the family. On discussion, we both concluded that we are both going to need to know how to take a good photo on these family meet ups and if we are lucky we can use the photos from this trip for a few Christmas and birthday presents to come!
Our guide and tutor Patrick was a really thoughtful and an experienced tutor who helped us both understand how our camera works on an advanced level. We practiced ISO, Aperture and Shutter Speed while visiting some great locations in London.
I found the tasks set to me perfect for simplifying all the messy settings in my camera and helped us focus on achieving what I want.
Patrick provided us with handouts and homework that supported me on our trip long after the tour finished and I still have the handout in my camera bag just in case l can’t remember something.
Thank you Patrick and The London Lens Project for a great tour!

Last week, I visited London for the first time. I booked the night photography tour for my second day there. I had never done a photography tour before and I had no experience with night photography, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The guide, Patrick, walked us to each spot and provided terrific instruction on what to do to get the perfect night time shots. He made sure we understood how to use the camera by showing us numerous night photography techniques and reviewing our photos along the way to make proper adjustments. It was a lot of fun, and I got to explore many parts of London at night that I likely would not have come across on my own. He also made sure we were safe the entire time, which was very comforting. Patrick showed us how to shoot in manual mode by adjusting the ISO, aperture, and shutter speed settings for different situations. I ended up taking some amazing photos and was surprised by how much I learned about night photography and using cameras in general.
The next day, I did a day photography tour with another company that was twice the cost of this tour. I wish I would have instead done that day tour with The London Lens Project, because the other company barely provided any instruction and was not as entertaining as Patrick. Next time I'm in London, I'll book the day tour with The London Lens Project.
As someone who has never done a photography tour before this trip, I highly suggest you try it out! It's truly suitable for people of all skill levels and you'll have a lot of fun doing it.

Recently booked a photography tour with the London Lens project and it did not disappoint.
My partner and I have an 8 month travelling trip planned and wanted to be able to utilise our new camera to the maximum.the tour was operated by Patrick and it was fantastic.he is so informative on how to operate the camera and had such great tips taking the time to explain and show you whilst allowing you the time to familiarise and apply yourself. Plus his enthusiasm is infectious.
We have definitely gained some confidence and skills with the camera and cannot wait to put them to use.
Whether you are a complete novice, want to refresh your skills or just want a fun engaging tour of London city I cannot recommend this tour enough.

Went on a South Bank Night Tour with my girlfriend. She had brought it for me for my birthday.
The tour was well organised and I learnt loads about shooting at night.
London is so beautiful and quite in the evening and now we know how to capture it. We will be back out as soon as possible exploring!
Thank you so much for all your help Patrick and look forward to doing a day tour in the summer!!

My girlfriend brought me a day tour along with my new camera.
I met Allen at London Bridge and from the get go, he helped to break down my new camera and get to know where all the buttons are.
I had taken a tour before so this was a refresher course and helped me ease into my new equipment (camera and external flash).
We practiced using ISO in different environments and how to balance shutter speed with aperture to produce the right lighting.
I feel pumped to take my camera out and keep reinforcing the concepts learnt on the tour.
Thank you Allen for being so patient and I look forward to seeing you again on that night tour!

Really Fun Tour
I toured with London Lens a few years ago and learnt a lot and had a lot of fun. So on my return to the UK, I booked a tour right away. I always find this is a great way to start my visit as I get to hear about London from someone who lives there. I picked up heaps of great tips about where to eat, other places to visit and most importantly, where not to go!
I took a night tour and practiced my skills playing with the manual settings of my camera. I have been using my camera a lot since my last class however, it is always so useful to have a teacher with you to answer all those little questions that are a big pain shooting solo.
The tour was around three hours and we visited locations along the south bank. The atmosphere was electric and I would book this tour again in a heart beat as it is always a great way to see London.
If you are looking for a way to get out in London but don't know where to start, photography tours are perfect!
