The area
Neighbourhood: Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The English Chapel of the Church of Christ the King is situated in Gordon Square in the heart of the University of London. The Church opened for worship in 1853. When I visited, the main church was closed, but this little chapel is open weekdays 8.30am - 4pm. It is a haven of peace and spirituality.

This is a very large church but only the English Chapel is available to visit. The Chapel is small but very beautiful. Situated in Gordon Square

Couldn't get into the main church, but the English Chapel was open to visitors and what a gem it is, despite the low lighting. Exquisite intricate stone carving above the seating niches. The exterior of the church is imposing, dominating the corner of Gordon Square and Byng Place opposite the Waterstones bookstore. A definite must see if you're in this part of central London.

The church of Christ the King is a must visit place. It is stunning inside if you are fortunate enough to be there when there is an organ recital you will marvel at the volume and tone. A striking place near to Euston Road. A gem.

On our way to the British Museum, this church suddenly became visible in between lots of buildings. The church itself was closed but there is a lovely little chapel which was worth a quick look.

What brings people to this building in the center of London, is your guess.

Some combination of mock Greek and neo-gothic fixtures, a strange color mix, low ceilings that can be oppressive: yours truly was not impressed by the aesthetics of the place. Needless to say, the place would not convert many to Christianity. The historical interest, if any, did not strike me.

However, it may have some merits as a concert hall. It also offers seats for spending a 5-minute rest between lectures at the nearby university. Praying for good exam results could be another use of the place, although untested for effectiveness.
