The residents of Coulby Newman are lucky to have this on there doorstep. We parked and walked from the entrance near the school and did a loop of... More

I always go here, like all the time. It is a good place full of rivers and streams and it has a big range of wildlife. Most of the time there is events on, like mini treasure hunts etc, ideal for children and adults to have a fun day out. 10/10.

Considering this area is so close to major roads and has a lot of different ways of getting to it and very well signposting too. It is calm, peaceful, untroubled and quite tranquil. Also it is quite of people too, though when i talked to people about it, the fairy dell is very popular with the people of Middlesbrough. As... More

Lovely place in summer with a Heron and kingfishers but a little spoilt by the enormous number of reed beds which hide the water. Winter, the reeds die down the lake water turns a milky/chalky colouring and the word to sum up the experience of walking round the lake and immediate is tranquil, I've managed the walk twice. Once yesterday... More

I came across the Fairy Dell when looking for something to do whilst staying in the area. It was a sunny afternoon so we decided to go for it. We spent an hour wondering down and around the different paths and spotting the carvings. My partner also enjoyed the 'gym equipment' that is there! We could see how it would... More
