I've been up Roseberry lots of times and been up in the evening in summer but this was my first night hike up in winter. Decent head torch essential! I was surprised by how many other people were doing exactly the same in November!

Great place for walking, running, hiking, eating out (picnic), sightseeing and family day trip out. The views are lovely and it's so peaceful. Worth visiting.

Lovely Autumn walk with the bf! Didn’t take long to get to the top- around an hour! Lovely views! Make sure you wear suitable footwear as it is very slippery!

We walked from Great Ayton and explored new trails through Newton Wood, before climbing up towards Roseberry Topping. I have climbed Roseberry Topping hundreds of times and still managed to find a new route up this week when I visited with my stepmum - who is 67 so if she can climb up to the top then you certainly can! :-) Stunning views whatever the weather! Despite it being a dreary grey day we still managed to snap a few great photos when the sun peeped out between the clouds. We didn't spend long at the top though as the wind was gale force! The woods were lovely and sheltered (from both the wind and the rain) and we really enjoyed strolling along, admiring the beautiful autumnal colours of the leaves. We spent most of our time exploring the many trails through the woods - lots of ups and downs! Good walking boots are definitely needed at this time of year! The paths were muddy due to all the rain and I found my walking pole useful to help with slipping around in the mud in the worst places and climbing up/down Roseberry Topping as the stones were a little slippy. We were last in the Newton Woods in May when the beautiful bluebells are out in full bloom - fields of blue as far as the eye can see... Definitely make the effort to visit at this time of year too! We parked in Great Ayton in the carpark for free. We walked all the way through the woods to the top of the path near the main Roseberry Topping Carpark. We set off at 8am when the paths were very quiet, but from 10am ish mid-week it was quite busy with dog walkers. In total we were out around 3 hours, with plenty of pauses for breath climbing up Roseberry!

I went up Roseberry topping with a group of friends (22-24 y/o). The walk is steep, yet achievable by most. Trainers are appropriate but for a longer walk I would recommend more substantial foot ware Great views at the top, although often very windy!
