Pub and Paddle is a fun an unusual canoe hire experience in Norwich. We create that back to nature feeling right here in the city centre. Whether you’re an expert canoeist or have never paddled a canoe before, Pub and Paddle canoe trips are great for everyone All of our canoe rentals begin in the centre of Norwich at our Elm Hill Quay pontoon, next to The Ribs of Beef pub on Fye Bridge. You can take your time learning how to paddle and get the canoe moving. This will not take you long – our beautiful wooden canoes easily glide across the water and are very stable! Even those of you who have grown up in Norwich will be amazed at the unique feeling you get from paddling through our fine city. Being on the water is a great way to see Norwich! It is only a short distance before the river opens up to some beautiful countryside where you can take a well-earned rest in a choice of riverside pubs.

Stunning trip along the canal. We loved it. The first pub is around an hour away, so need to be happy with a couple of hours of paddling.

I want to highly recommend Pub and Paddle for a fantastic day out. My daughter recommended it and 5 of us went along. It was easy to book online, they were ready for us when we turned up to collect the canoes and we had a wonderful day paddling down the river. The views were amazing, the calm atmosphere made it a perfect day out and the pubs were super. A Totally 5 Star experience.

I arranged for a large group (Love Her Wild) to attend a Pub and Paddle session at the start of Sep.
Good comms with Nick, payment process was simple and we arranged our pizza orders in advance to make it easier.
On the night, Nick helped us all get our equipment (in decent Nick) sorted, gave us a quick safety and paddling brief and then off we went.
It was lovely to paddle through the city, the 2 hours was just right (about 1.5 on the water) to get us back as it got dark, and then to the pub for DELICIOUS pizzas!
Only improvement would be the speed the pizzas came out, although we were told in advance they might be slower for a group that size, hence we pre-ordered.
We’d all go again!

The Wensum through Norwich is a beautiful river filled with wildlife and often devoid of noise.
Pub and Paddle are easy to book, easy to find, and priced very reasonably. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had a fantastic couple of hours out exploring. Thanks.

What an amazing day out and a fantastic way to explore the beautiful city of Norwich via the waterways. Easy communication with Nick. I was in a single kayak and my daughter and husband were in a double canoe. Very easy to paddle and navigate the river. The stops along the way at each pub were beautiful too. Can’t recommend this experience highly enough and with this company.

We did the 5hr one-way to Bramerton and it was such a great afternoon. We were a group of 4 friends in a double kayak and double canoe and it was just the right amount of paddling and pubbing for our liking! The owner was also incredibly helpful and accommodating, managing to still hire out to us despite me stupidly booking the wrong date! Thank you so much!

an absolutely beautiful experience. i surprised my boyfriend with the pub & paddle experience and we both had an amazing time. the views were stunning and the vegan pizza at ribs of beef were insanely good!!

I organised this as a work team outing. We hired three canoes and did the 2hr paddle. We managed to get as far as Carrow Road and then headed back. Very easy to get the hang of and such good fun. One of our canoes did end up in the bushes but this just added to the fun and nobody ended up in the river. Would highly recommend and will definitely be doing it again when more of our team can make it.

A great day out, team really helpful on arrival. The 5 hour return trip to Thorpe was a great option, I don’t think we would have made it further 😁 a great way to see parts of Norwich you wouldn’t normally see. Highly recommended if you fancy doing something a bit different on a sunny day!

You have about 4 hours. It took under a hour each way plenty of time to stop for lunch and look around village.

Is it suitable for 2 year old and 6 year old

Hi! No unfortunately we don’t allow children under 3 on the canoes. If you wanted to take both the kids then you could go on a rowing boat instead - this is fine for any age as they’re very big and much more stable than a canoe. We have a kids buoyancy aid for the 6 year old and a toddler life jacket for the 2 year old.
