A park for skate boards and bikes to charge up and down on the concrete play area. Model steam engines running at the weekend in the summer. Radio control boats and the odd U boat to see on the large lake. A band stand and...More

......but why, Oh! why, do the model boat club have to meet EVERY Sunday on the boating-lake with their extremely noisy and very smelly model craft which detracts severely from the enjoyment of others with their more sedate, and considerably more environmentally-friendly battery driven craft?...More

The perfect place for a cheap, family day out. Kept nice and the play area is really good. Good for taking the bikes or scooters. Lots to do to tire the children out.

I played tennis here this week - I was very impressed at the four brand new tennis courts. Unfortunately, our match was rained off, but I walked back through the circular gardens which are absolutely fabulous. All credit to the keepers of this park. The...More

Went to use boating lake on a Sunday.....BIG mistake! The local boating club were there with extremely noisy and EXTREMELY smelly internal-combustion engined boats making it impossible for our grand-children to enjoy playing with my quiet, and CLEAN, electric boat. Avoid Sundays!

Something for everyone, kids (and big kids) and adults. Relax and soak up the sun (when we have it), play in the park, the boating lake, model railway, kids play parks....take a picnic and you will spend all day there.

An amazing and beautiful park which is always full of action and truly at the heart of many communities - model boaters, skateboarders, runners, dog lovers, cricketers, croquet players, train enthusiasts, footballers, walkers, kids and parents, old and young, you and me. The best.

Yes, there are two car parks at either end of the park and I don’t believe there is a time limit on either car park or certainly not at the large car park which is at the end nearest the skate park.
