This museum presents the past as it was for various Norwich mayors and wealthy merchants over many centuries by accurately recreating each room as it was at various dates in the past. It brings the past to life!

Visited as part of my uni course and really enjoyed it, Bethan the tour guide was really interesting and knew a lot about our topic of women in the early modern period.

The building is perhaps the most interesting thing about this museum but it also has some original pieces of furniture and decorations. The garden looked like it would be a pleasant place to sit in during the spring/summer.

Went to this museum as a part of my uni class, and it was amazing. The effort that has gone into re-creating and keeping the original style of such an historic building was wonderful.

Have been trying to get in for some time but Strangers Hall is only open a couple of days a week. Think its part of the Museum of Norwich so a a bit constrained on paid staff. Its essentially a large merchants house with the rooms set and furnished in different periods of its existence. However its so well done... More

This was a delightful visit - the building is beautifully old and rambling and the staff very friendly/helpful. For facilities there are loos and a small shop, and you can get tea or coffee to drink in the garden. Walking through the house is a delight with its gorgeous Tudor structure and features. Some rooms are furnished in 17th some... More

A really interesting step back in time. Welcoming staff gave a brief intro and happily looked after coats and rucksacks so we could enjoy the building. A unique journey through various periods. Good value for money. Be warned - they do not accept card payments.
