Very historical area in the heart of Norwich with lots of hidden gems and fantastic variety of restaurants. Interesting fact:Tombland Alley is a burial ground for the adjacent church of St George. The high walls contain mainly victims killed by the plague, the disease that took so many lives over the centuries. There used to be iron railings here to... More

I was fascinated by the name 'Tombland' when I was a boy visiting Norwich with my parents. Well, it's nothing to do with graves, but comes from two Old English words meaning 'space, open ground'. And so it is. Why should tourists visit Tombland? Because it gives access to the Erpingham Gate, the Cathedral, historic Elm Hill, and numerous small... More

Tombland contains the cathedral but also has numerous exquisite examples of architecture and beautiful shops & cafes. Just more of fantastic Norwich to enjoy!

As per title is an area rather than an individual attraction. Would possibly be a must for some people but there are many other attractions in Norwich that should be visited before this area eg. Anglican and Catholic Cathedrals & castle

Situated by the cathedral. Tombland is a medieval market area with interesting frontages and a good restaurant

Never eaten in Prezzo before so wondered what to expect. Pleasantly surprised. Fast service, good food and nice atmosphere. Definitely recommend the Calzone, packed full and huge! Overall a good first visit which won't be my last.

Tombland is situated next to the Cathedral area, and presumably centuries ago was a burial area. Besides the old buildings, Tombland has gained the reputation of the main eating area in Norwich, with many restaurants to choose from Italian, Japanese, Steak, Indian, etc. If you are visiting Norwich and wish to eat, it is worth going to Tombland to look... We are so lucky to have such a beutiful part of our city offering such varied food and sites. Lobster restaurant, Japanese, Thai and some of the better chains and with a backdrop of the cathedral. There is a taxi rank and bus stops.

Norwich is a beautiful city but one area not to be missed is Tombland. With its old buildings and cobbled streets,Some lovely interesting shops and restaurants.Don't miss the monument to honour nurse Edith Cavell beside the arched entrance to the cathedral square.A really feel good atmosphere.
