Enjoyment of concert ruined by selfish people standing in a small seated theatre completely blocking the view of those who had paid for the comfort of a seat and who through discomfort, infirmity or choice, remained seated. The tickets were not sold as restricted view...More

I was here for the second time to see the Locrian Ensemble, Vivaldi by Candlelight. The theatre is small but I prefer it. It makes me wish I was a Norwich resident. I had to drive from Cambridge, but the Locrian are worth the effort.

Went here to see Ushers and it was a wonderful performance. Lovely cast who were happy to talk to you, in a quaint theatre with lots of character. Would love to visit again if I visit Norwich!

This is a great theatre. The bar staff was friendly, the theatre staff was friendly and the show I saw (An Ideal Husband) was unexpected, but really enjoyable.

An early Ayckbourn farce. This was a reasonable attempt at this play in a small restricted space. However, the pace was way way too slow throughout. The repetitive circulating of pillars to show movement between height of room levels was pedantic and laboured. Acting and...More

Amazing building to start with. Small but comfortable bar in foyer, very welcoming. Watched a great play directed by an up and coming young man, and as it was a Victorian play, the theatre was an ideal setting.

For affordable performances and a great choice of shows The Maddermarket is the place to visit. The building is full of history; most of the staff are volunteers and you see everything from pop music tributes to Shakespeare. Also a good programme for children during...More
