Always pop in here when in Whitby. Families and dog friendly, they will even provide you with water for the dogs. Good selection of drinks and real ales. Gets very busy as it’s central facing the train station, bus station and harbour. Friendly staff that...More

Lovely friendly pub. Staff can remeber what you are drinking. Reasonable prices for a pub. We visited when the Beast from the East had arrived and the staff ensured the open fire was always blazing to keep us warm.

Would recommend this pub, with its cosy bar with real coal fire and excellent draught beers. The Old Peculier in particular was a welcome treat on the bitter evenings. We enjoyed chatting with the locals and the landlord was friendly. One downside? The females serving...More

A good variety of real ales from local breweries. Knowledgeable bar staff who were happy to give a small taster.

The Yorkshire weather in February was cold and blustery. However we found this gem of a pub which ticked all of the right boxes. A cosy pub with a couple of roaring log and coal fires. They set the scene for a pleasant drinking session...More

Lovely little pub, open fires. Room 1 was lovely, modern and very clean. It was alittle to warm, but turned all heating off. Staff were very welcoming and friendly.

Great choice of real ales and gins. A nice ambiance with traditions surroundings. Real log fire warming my cockles. A great pub to visit whilst in whitby... only wish there were more proper pubs still around .!

Was in Whitby for a day trip. One of the ladies discovered this bar...in the small lounge a roaring fire welcomed us. Seats were comfortable and I enjoyed the best pint of Guinness I'd had in a long time served by Simon, a super friendly...More

Fantastic pub in a great location. From check in to check out couldn’t fault anything. Great size room, which was spotlessly clean with a large comfy bed, great shower room and plenty of teas, coffees and milk. The pub itself is lovely with great fires...More

Fab choice of real ales around 10 to choose from from all over Yorkshire. Real fires and plenty of curios to look at. The toilet doors were a little sticky but otherwise clean. Not sure if it does food. Would return.
