I used this company a few times while in York. Service was ok but never quite on time. Today I needed to catch the Edinburgh train and allowed an HOUR beforehand to be picked up. I booked over twelve hours before the pickup time.
I waited, ten minutes late, I phoned them. No drivers available. No estimate of how long to find one. And it is a computer system that doesn’t let you speak to a human.
It was only because the lady at my B&B volunteered to drive me herself that I got my train.
What a hopeless shambles of a company. UNRELIABLE. AVOID.

Absolutely Appalling - DANGEROUS driver - speeding in torrential rain going 80mph on M62, overtaking on inside lane, rude. Filed a complaint and 'manager told me the driver 'wasn't speeding because he asked him'. Thought I would die in a car crash - horrific service - made me pre pay £140 for an airport run so had no recourse when I complained about the speeding. DO NOT USE this company.

very poor no after care bought car in December 2022 from Driven of York and with in 6 months timing chain had gone and killed engine went back to driven as under guarantee they did not want to no said they would give £500 as good will but that never came took out there extended warranty that only covers for £1000 had to replace engine at cost of £8000 do not buy from these the AA standard means nothing

Had Tracey again tonight and what a legend!! Was so happy to see her as she always gives amazing customer service, is safe, polite and we love her! A lovely lady and an even better taxi driver. Will always use York Cars because of their amazing service but Tracey goes above and beyond.

I called the day before to book a taxi.I gave my address & asked if they needed my postcode,the teenager who answered the phone confirmed that no she had found me.The taxi driver called me the next day at the allocated time and realised that he was the other side of town at the incorrect address and it would take him 15mins to get to me I was catching a train so advised this was not suitable.Instead of him trying to sort this out for me I was told to call the office and re-arrange.I didn't & won't be calling them again.Thanks to a kind neighbour I made my train and hospital appointment.

I didn't even have a taxi booked and I still got talked too like absolute rubbish. A member of the office did, and I happened to pick up his phone and got abused hurled at me from the driver.
I think they need to consider a new career, this clearly isn't for them !
I won't ever book with these and I would advise that no one else does.

Really easy to book and on line app kept us up to date with pick up. Excellent service and dog friendly. Driver was very knowledgeable and friendly

Booked a taxi several hours in advance for myself and children, only to be left waiting in the rain. The taxi was over half an hour late. No apology from the company, not even a message to say the taxi was going to be late! Can't believe that they are still in business when the service is so poor.

Terribly disappointed in the way I was spoken to by a member of the receptionist team. I rang when our taxi driver never turned up. They lied and claimed a driver had come to meet us, when we had been stood waiting the entire time and this categorically had not happened. The receptionist was terribly rude on the phone, mocked me when they seemed not to be listening and I felt compelled to repeat what the issue had been. Horrible experience and will avoid at all costs in future. This was a crucial booking, which I had stressed when I made it, and an important appointment was missed as a result.
