Great for families, especially for children to see what it used to be like growing up and living in times gone by. Lovely to get involved in ongoing demonstrations ( our visit had sweet making) and was very nice to taste afterwards. The prison was great and the stories told compelling. Great for all ages.

My wife and visited on a Sunday afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed it. £10 entry fee was well worth it. We spent about 1.5 hours on our visit, but you could easily take longer if you wish. The highlights were the Victorian village and the First World War exhibitions.

Went with our grandaughter, who absolutely loved it. Nice to see that new technology has been introduced sympathetically to enhance the overall experience. On a personal note I found the 1914 exhibition very emotive and poignant. For a tenner and children free it's really good value for money. Loved the addition of the blackboard, particularly for the children to chalk... More

Have been to the museum a number of times previously and thoroughly enjoyed it but returned recently for another visit. The main section on the street and different shops / house was as excellent as before but feel the rest of the museum lets it down. Spartan displays, huge unused areas, lack of flow, displays they were great before now... More

Enjoyed by all party, two seniors and two grandkids 13 yrs and 11 yrs. Variety of exhibits that appealed to all. Staff very helpful as I had a wheelchair. Not all exhibits were accessible to me but the rest of the family enjoyed them. This was reflected in the price I paid but husband as a carer got in free... More

This museum was full of amazing things to see. It was suitable for all ages. It wasn't what I expected although I hadn't researched the museum, we just turned up hoping for the best on a wet day and we thoroughly enjoyed all aspects.

I visited the museum some years ago so on the recent visit I knew what to expect but it was no less interesting. Being in my 60's it's nice to walk around saying I can remember that as you look at the rooms from the 60's and 70's and the toys my children and l used to play with. As... More
