I have never been to something like this before and I was pleasantly surprised. The mood was set by the staff right from the start and the fun continued. The actors were very good and their efforts ensured everyone laughed and joined in. The props...More

It's definitely an experience. I feel like I could have saved time (and money) had I done more research around the York Dungeon experience. It's essentially a walk around a few rooms in a non descript building (not sure if they were ever even in...More

We had a great time whilst visiting the dungeons, very informative but at the same time fun and exciting. Some great actors among the staff which made our experience one to remember. Definitely check this place out if your visiting York.

Great experience - not at all scary - just simply good fun. Interactive but in no way embarrassing if you are called out. Suitable for 12 years and above as some children might not see it as pretend. Very informative if you listen carefully. The...More

Loved our visit to the York Dungeon! Entertaining, funny, and just a tad scary ... all in one! The actors were fabulous. An engaging way to learn about York’s past. Loved the photo souvenirs! Would visit again. Wouldn’t recommend for young children.

Enjoyed this although not quite as good as I remember. Very commercialised feels like they're trying to squeeze constant money out of you but the shows were good. I think the Edinburgh dungeon is meant to be more intense but it was worth the visit,...More

Visited as a family of 4 with a 13 and 8 year old. I was concerned that my youngest child would be too scared but decided to chance it. There were parts where they were both scared, but more anticipation for something to happen. Both...More

You could always not go but let your family go unaccompanied? Attraction is very tame, just stand at the back and I am sure you will not be asked to participate.

Hi Sarah. The York Dungeon is on a busy main road in York city centre, so you would be unable to drop off outside the attraction. The nearest coach park is at St Georges Field, just a few minutes walk from us.
