This was a great family (kids 11 and 14) activity post-lockdown. We have lived in York for 15 years and we went places we have never been. The questions were pitched at the right level and were fun. Demo on the website helpful to see how it works. Walk was the right length. We stopped for lunch and it took us about 2.45hrs. The app worked well for others but crashed on my phone so worth making sure a few people in the group have it.
So we thought all really well thought out and put together and enjoyed it!

I booked this on a last min whim and we weren’t disappointed we know York really well and wanted something that would take us around the walls but give my son some purpose as we all know walking as a kid is not cool lol but Captain Bess kept him very happy. The clues were really good not to hard but not to easy and we got to walk the walls and into some areas we hadn’t been in a while. It took us about 2 hours to do and we really enjoyed it my son said that he liked the fact that he was texting with Captain Bess (From the adults perspective I loved the tech side of it everything ran really smoothly and really did look like a conversation was happening)
Well happily do some more of these when were out and about thanks so much for a fun afternoon.

Excellent experience, well thought out clues and presented in a fun way.
We thought the clues were pitched at the correct level, not too easy and made you look very closely at your surroundings, without being impossible to solve.
We had a fun day exploring York with a few pit stops for refreshement between clues.
Would definitly recommend this as an activity for all the family to enjoy

We had a fantastic time with the treasure trail in York and found the level of difficulty perfect for me and my children. It was a lovely way to see York and helped us learn about the history of it and encouraged us to visit parts we may not have without the trail. There are also lots of moments where you can stop to eat/drink/explore the shops and take it at your own pace and we really appreciated that 😊

Absolutely loved the self-guided Treasure Hunt around York. Lasted 2 of us around 3 hours with a wee public house drop-off on the way.
Gutted that we had to ask for a few clues but none of the clues are impossible, just us being impatient.
Even though it was pouring with rain, we still had a great afternoon.

I live in York and doing this Treasure Hunt made me discover things/places that I didn't even know were there! Every step had been really thought through - there were alternative routes in case gates etc. were closed, I was sent an email the day before the Hunt to advise me what time to begin (due to Museum Gardens opening times) and all of the clues were social distance friendly. We had a great afternoon and I'd highly recommend it!

Absolutely wonderful couple of hours.
We're local to York but still managed to find lots we'd never noticed before. There's plenty of opportunities to stop and have a look around and then come back if you want and it takes you to some of the quieter streets where you can just enjoy the experience away from crouds.
The clues are brilliant, you really have to take a second to think about them but they're not overly complex and are really about getting you to look around

I'm so glad you had a great time, even as locals to York. We put loads of effort into the clues, so I'm particularly pleased you enjoyed those. It's such a beautiful city, it was a lot of fun designing them!
If you fancy another adventure, we're in other cities around the UK.

Tour was really fun, enjoyed walking around York and solving all the clues immensely. York was very crowded so took us a while to get to some of the clues, and if we did it again we would take breaks when the game directed us to rather than soldier on! Lovely to be really inspecting every nook and cranny of these gorgeous old buildings 😊
