Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A Belle (Elaine) came onto our coach and guided us around York regaling us with history and places of interest that we explored when we left our coach. I would definitely recommend taking this option even if you are visiting with an organised coach tour or on your own visiting York.

Been on a few times and never disappointed. Great value and the crew are lovely. Skipper very knowledgable. Saw puffins and seals yesterday on the 21/4 hour cruise. Highly recommend.

Our bus driver suggested we had a tour with the Yorkshire Belles and at £5 a head for an hour we thought we may as well. Elaine came on to our bus, along with some other people from another bus, and we drove around the city quite slowly, stopping occasionally while Elaine talked about the history and interesting points you don't normally hear about. I particularly enjoyed going out to see the Rowntree factory and the village he built for his workers, and the church with the little door so that the devil could fly out when the baby is baptised.Elaine was warm, friendly and funny and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with her getting to know York a bit better.

we had the pleasure of welcoming on of the Yorkshire Belles tour guides on our coach for w whistle stop tour of York while we were there this month. What an amazing amount of information we were given ... things that have in the past been by-passed. Well worth the extra money it cost and we had the pleasure of seeing the brain child of the Rowntree dynasty whereby a whole community was built for his workers to ensure they were comfortable for life.
Yorkshire Belles operate and Route Master double decker bus in the summer months so if you are there look them up its a real treat to get up close to the history of the City of York that some of us may not know about.

Great tour & commentary from Elaine (one of Tommy's daughter's). If anyone is visiting York we highly recommend this excellent Bus Tour especially if you only have a few hours in York. Thanks Elaine for wonderful information, history & stories of by gone York.

This city tour on a retro routemaster bus is half the price of the official sightseeing bus tour.

Elaine and her husband run this bus independently and have a wealth of local knowledge and a good sense of humour.

I'm really pleased our tour manager was able to book our tour and Elaine from the Yorkshire Belles was friendly and informative. I've visited York a few times but still learnt more. I'd like to visit a couple of places noted whilst on the tour. A great hour spent and no walking involved......suitable for everyone.

We pre-booked this tour as a unique way to see York as part of a weekend of celebrations for my sister's birthday. The ladies who run this tour were very helpful and friendly willing to do there best to give you a tour to remember. The tour itself was amazing, even those in our party who don't normally enjoy bus tours found it extremely interesting because of how the guide told us all about York in a quirky & unique way that had us all talking about the history of York. The tour was on an old London Routemaster bus which took us around the historic sites of York including the Rowantree Factory, York Minster & Cliffords Tower to name but a few. We stopped at the tower and a few of us got off to run up to the top of the hill though getting down was a little more tricky having struggled to get up but was great fun or so the others at the bottom who weren't so brave thought. I would recommend using Yorkshire Belles if you want something uniquely different with a more personal touch to sightseeing around York.

We pre booked our tour with this company as they were recomended highly by our coach tour manager, we were enroute back from the Edinburgh Tattoo. They are based in a car park near ''THE Loos''. (40p for a p - -) Fabulous old London routemaster double decker red bus with a cord bell pull ! The very informative tour took us out to the Rowntree village first (loved the smell of chocolate) before doing a very in-depth circuit of York pointing out most, if not all points of the historical and tourist attractions. The sister (married to the driver) who was our guide made the commentary very interesting, The time went too quickly. Made a nice change having the personal touch.
