Had a fantastic walk along part of the walls with our guide, Sam. He was very knowledgable and shared many interesting snippets. He pointed out many things we would have never noticed if we hadn’t been on the tour. Definitely worth doing when you are in York! He gave us plenty of opportunities to ask questions and made sure everyone could keep up and hear what was being said. He even gave directions at the end and walked us back to the starting point!

The 'experience' itself is quite small - just a couple of rooms in Micklegate Bar. The highlight of the visit was the guided tour round the walls. This actually cost less than the admission to the experience, but in my opinion was much better value. There were only four tours per day when we went - 2 accessible and 2 normal. I am not sure the accessible tour would be quite as good, but the normal (high level) tour was excellent, with a very knowledgeable guide.

Excellent value for money, very knowledgeable guide with a good sense of humour (Tom). Learnt facts during the walk we wouldn't have otherwise found out. Good photo opportunities. The guy at the gate reception was also very knowledgeable and helpful. They both were happy to answer questions.

Great time here. Payed for the “experience” plus the walking tour. Which is entry to their small museum followed by the tour. For only £8.50 total this was well worth the money. I would recommend booking both things together as I did as it was nice to have a Quick Look through the museum followed by the tour to give you more insight. The tour guide was very nice, clearly very knowledgeable on the subject and answered all questions enthusiastically
