Our tour of Bronte Country with Expedition Yorkshire was the highlight of our week-long stay in York. Our guide, Andrew, begins each tour by asking about the specific interests of his visitors. Concern for their comfort and safety is always paramount.
Nowhere else in England have we seen the kind of beauty we saw that day. The setting was enhanced by Andrew’s love of the terrain and broad knowledge of the history. When we visited Haworth, the village home of the Brontes, the novels by Emily and Charlotte came to life. We stepped back in time while Andrew told stories about the Bronte family and described their lives. Our day-long tour was spiced with lively conversation with Andrew, along with a good dash of English humor.
Too many visitors to England miss the unique character of Yorkshire and we’re so glad that we had this experience. Without reservation, we recommend Expedition Yorkshire for your next trip to England.

We had an absolutely lovely trip through the Yorkshire dales up to Edinburgh. The scenery was unbelievably beautiful and the stops along the way were well chosen.
Our guide, Andrew, was extremely knowledgeable and pleasant. A bonus (in my book) was the comfort of the van and the safe and moderate pace of the driving. At no point was I quietly praying for my life!
We definitely recommend this tour company. 5 stars plus!

We had a wonderful trip to the Yorkshire Dales. Andrew is a terrific guide. He has great knowledge about the history, geography, and culture of the region. Thanks to his expert guidance, we were able to see some amazing sights while avoiding the tourist traps. Each little bridge or piece of crumbling wall has its own fascinating bit of history, as Andrew explained to us. We felt that we were living in one of Herriot's novels!
Andrew is very flexible in the itineraries he proposes, and has something for everyone's taste. His tours are strongly recommended!

We spent an amazing day with Andew, the best day of our trip to the UK. Andrew has a warm, engaging personality which quickly makes you feel comfortable. He readily shares his comprehensive knowledge of the area, taking lesser known roads that lead to interesting sites that no guide book will ever include and most others would bypass. He took us through small towns, regaling us with their history and interesting stories. He knows the best cafes and restaurants in which to get refreshed. He was always willing to stop so that we could take in the views or capture images. We never felt rushed at any point; it was like taking a journey with a good friend. We would highly recommend Expedition Yorkshire tours to anyone.

Want to thank Andrew Ward and Expedition Yorkshire for the superb tour through the beautiful Yorkshire countryside! Andrew put together an outstanding tour including everything on our "must see" list and so much more. From the charming little villages and ancient ruins to the breathtaking scenery in the Dales and Moors, treating us to his vast knowledge of the geography, the history and all that is "Yorkshire"!

Three generations of my family (aged from 11 to 82) took a wonderful full day tour last month with Expedition Yorkshire, which included the Yorkshire moors, Staithes, Whitby, Goathland, and so many more places. Andrew was friendly, considerate, and extremely knowledgeable. He listened to our requests and planned a tour for us that included all the places where we wanted to go, but then added so many extra stops along the way, showing us beautiful places we would never have thought of visiting, or been able to get to by ourselves. It really was the highlight of our visit, and I highly recommend this company.

It was a great honour and not ever taken lightly touring with all the generations of your wonderful family. It was a real pleasure being able to adjust the tour a little and take you all on your trip to Staithes which is not only a beautiful village but one which holds so many precious memories for all of you. I booked this trip for my mother and her sisters and they all thoroughly enjoyed it. They loved the way the trip was tailored around their preferences and especially enjoyed visiting unique places that wouldn’t be possible on a larger group tour. The guide was friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. Would recommend.

Dear Sarah we always strive to show things that wouldn't be easily possible another way we always where possible try to avoid the main road and go the tiny back ways and beautiful back roads that show the North, Yorkshire and Great Britain at it's very finest! Can't make a higher recommendation for anyone than I would give Andrew for our fantastic four days with Andrew. We learned so much as he was filled with information that was interesting and important. Andrew met four of us at Bradford airport and we proceeded to the train to take us to Hayworth to see the Bronte church and parsonage as well as cemetery. He recommended lunch which was perfect in town. Then on to Bradford where he had us for two days on my family genealogy tour. He arranged for genealogist to help me discover another generation before we went and then to meet with her and see the documents. The next day he had the president of Undercliffe Cemetery take us on a tour of the amazing Victorian cemetery filled with history and to see the tombstone of my great great grandparents. The next day he took us to Saltaire, a woolmaking factory that included housing and health care away from the pollution of Bradford, now shops and site of David Hockney art work. Then a full day to the North Sea and Whitby along the Yorkshire Moors. He told us to look for a perfect view of Whitby as we came into town and wandered the cemetery and ruined abbey. He gave our daughter and granddaughter time to walk the pier to the end to stand right at the North Sea. The following day he drove us to the Cotswolds where the rest of the family met under the able planning by our next guide, Tom Benjamin from Go Cotswolds. If you want personalized tours, I can only give highest ratings to Andrew Ward of ExpeditionYorkshire and Tom Benjamin from Go Cotswolds. Our days in England were so enhanced by their care, concern, knowledge and superb suggestions of what to see and do.

I am so glad that in the review you mention so many elements of this large and complex family history tour which we planned with such care together.
