Plenty of parking and you canpark and ride into york. Toilets need a revamp. the upstairs arent so bad but the downstairs ones arent great. I wouldnt go mid season like may and october theres not much option and variety. but all in all pretty dencent.Hi, thank you for your review. - CumbriamanCockermouth, United Kingdom73 contributionsThe best outletThe best designer outlet around. Plenty of choice, good kids park and food court. If you want to go somewhere, spending all day to buy nowt, then get stressed on a par with chernobyl reactor 4 under test, go to the Trafford Centre. Otherwise go here and actually buy some clothes in a couple of hours.Hi, thank you for your lovely review. Glad you had a wonderful time and we look forward to welcoming you back soon. - Helen HDriffield, United Kingdom2,562 contributionsStylish shoppingAlways like to come here to what is new and interesting, as well as sheltering from the inclement weather today (it's raining again!). Lots of new shops, as well as old favourites. Had a good walk round, twice, before settling down for lunch while there. Can't wait to go back next month when it will be in full-swing for Christmas.Hi, Thank you for your lovely review and so glad you enjoyed coming to our shopping centre. Sounds like you had a wonderful day. We look forward to welcoming you back for the Christmas season, the decorations are already up and Yorkshire's Winter Wonderland opens this Friday (17 November). - theheadgardenerEngland, United Kingdom107 contributionsVery nice visit, pleasant apart from the pungent perfume shop.A good selection of shops, it's the only place I've been to where people get dressed up to go shopping. A lot of the clothes shops are pricey, and some are more reasonable however I couldn't find anything I liked which isn't unusual. I prefer the Lindt shop as there's always something nice in there and chocolate is far more useful than a fancy coat when you've no-where to wear it. Plenty of food to choose from upstairs and coffee places downstairs, enough places for most budgets. Toilets were clean. They have an autism hour or something like that so it's nice and quiet, but what they do need is to tell Penhaligons to do something about the air pollution around the vicinity of their shop. The smell of perfume is alluring to some but to those with allergies/sensitivities it makes that area a no-go zone, sore mouth, instant headache, watering eyes, dizziness...very unpleasant (and this was from the shop across the way) so had to vacate the area rapidly. Maybe they could shut the doors or stop pumping out perfume (that's what someone told me they do, could be a myth). Overall it is a nice place to shop with a plenty of variety, just be mindful you don't pollute your lovely sensitive customers too much with that dreadful perfume unless people who shop there need to be made to smell better. Thank you.Hi, thank you for your lovely review, sounds like you had a great time shopping with us. We also like our Lindt shop, there's so much to choose from for a tasty treat. Yes, our Autism mornings are on a Tuesday, we dim the lights in our stores and turn off the music. We have also passed your feedback on to our retail team regarding Penhaligons who will speak to the store. Thank you again and we look forward to welcoming you back. From the opening welcome to the debit-card transaction, everything here was perfect.
Akis, “our” waiter/server, made our meal even more special with his blend of banter and bonhomie, a feat that’s difficult to achieve in the hustle and bustle of a busy restaurant.
Our lunchtime visit to this PE venue was the first for several years and, based on the experience, neither my wife, Helen, nor I, will leave it as long before making a return trip from our home 20 miles away.
It’ll be worth it just for another margarita pizza, those wonderfully-fluffy dough balls or (where are those cholesterol-reducing statins?!) another slice of tiramisu or other “naughty” desserts.
Full marks all round, Pizza Express. Your hospitality on our 49th wedding anniversary proved to be the proverbial icing on the cake…

First time visiting the McArthur Glen Shopping Outlet York. Plenty of free parking and easy to find and well planned out. Very impressive shopping centre, some great shops and excellent facilities - plenty of coffee shops and on the top floor a choice of sit down restaurants - Pizza Express, Pret or takeaway McDonalds. The centre is very clean, bright and spacious. Very impressed and would certainly visit again.

Visited today.Sunday 5th November. Most shops are open at 10am but larger ones not till 11am.The place was packed which was causing some problems for people with invalid scooter.prams and disabled people. It may be better if there was a one way system in situ as you get to see it all anyways. We bought items from a variety of shops at very decent prices. Some of the shops are extremely overpriced. Its all on the flat and there are clean well maintained toilets and disabled access. The car parks on the whole are flat.

Hi, thank you for taking the time to write us a review.
Sounds like you had a lovely day. We're sorry that you felt it was crowded. With the build-up to Christmas, we do expect it to be busier at the weekends and we do encourage people to shop mid-week if possible when it's much quieter. We're also open until 8 pm most nights and until 9 pm during the Christmas period Thursday - Saturday.
We're happy to hear you found our facilities well-maintained though and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.
Many thanks,
Emilia

I have just got off the phone with customer services due to finding two gift cards in my sock draw, I know stupid mistake as they are now 2 days expired. I thought I’d ring customer services to see if there was any way I could reinstate the cards even if I had to pay out my own pocket for this only to find the answer was no and that the centre now takes 100% of the gift money and there is nothing they can do. I won’t be shopping there again and my advice to anyone thinking about buying a gift card is don’t bother and just give money so that it can be spent anywhere.

The place is filthy and has the two gobbiest members of staff I have ever come across. There were very few customers and had my wife not already. ordered there would have been two less. There is no merit in shouting so loud that it is difficult to understand what they are saying.

Possibly park and ride ( expensive) or walk down Micklegate ( 20 mins?) to Piccadilly bus stop outside Primark and take the 415 Selby Bus which goes every 15 minutes and stops at Designer Centre

Hello, what are the opening times of the parking? Was hoping to do some shopping and then take the bus into the centre but didn’t want to not be able to get out of the car park when we return. Thank you in advance
