The Minster Inn is a pub I always look forward to visiting on any trip to York that I take. This pub is superb ,the interior is lovely, multi roomed,a solid wood serving bar dominates the main room, great decor and furnishings ,beer enamels adorn the wall,tv's to enjoy the sport and there's plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside in the beer garden,it's a great pub to unwind in. We were here on a Wednesday evening, pub was busy with a great atmosphere ,we were greeted with a smile by a very pleasant member of staff,we had a study of their real ale's and my brother and I both opted to have a pale ale from Bank's Brewery, these were served in excellent condition ,we grabbed a table and just chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this great pub . My pale ale was really good,a crisp, well balanced pale ale, hoppy ,bursting with taste ,a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a slight bitter finish to each mouthful which my brother and I really enjoy,it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality brew. We really enjoyed our pale ale's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to The Minster Inn we had a great time. The Minster Inn is easy to locate along Marygate . Opening hours are; Monday to Thursday ,4pm till 11pm. Friday & Saturday, midday till 11pm. Sunday, midday till 10pm. A great pub, well worth checking out if you're in the area or planning to visit York.

A proper pub, good for couples or Group of mates but definitely not for families. Aisles and walkways are narrow and tables crammed in to maximise food customers, which is fine if that’s your business model but they’re not discreet about letting you know you’re an inconvenience with pushchair and kids. I’m sure it was awkward for staff going about their job but we were Made to feel awkward also and that’s no way to treat customers.
Pizzas are ok to soak up the beer but they’re pretty basic.
Head around the corner for friendlier options.

Love this place! Defo the best service in York and our fave pub. The team are great and make every visit a pleasure, your glass is never empty. Great cocktails, super tasty and great value pizzas. Defo best to book as it’s a popular pub

We're visiting York for a few days which did involve visiting a few of the fine hostelries for some of the fine real ale on offer. We did feel a little uncomfortable visiting around 9.00 in the evening as if we were intruding on the locals. The interior is worth visiting for the traditional Yorkshire layout with front and back rooms with the central bar in the corridor. Three beers on offer while we were there Hobgoblin, Burton Bitter and Banks Sunbeam and I would say the Banks Sunbeam was good .

Popped in for a pint, glass of wine and double baileys. £15!
Don't mind London prices in London, but up north this was a bit rich. Overcharged cos I'm southern, or no deal yo double up a baileys? 1 drink and left.

Spent a couple hours yesterday evening. Serves an excellent choice of real ales; including local breweries. We had pizzas to eat. Very tasty and great value for money. Catered well for us non meat eaters allowing us to substitute the toppings.
If you can; pay this pub a visit.

A short walk through the park and away from the bustle of York centre is this fab little pub. It was really busy when we arrived but we soon got a table. Tapas and pizza makes up the majority of the menu and we ordered a pizza between us and some tapas on the side. All delicious and well flavoured, we were happy with all our food. Great beer selection and friendly staff made it an evening to remember!

I prebooked a room for a get together with several friends through the Minster Inn's website. They responded each time very quickly, answered all of my questions, and were very patient with all of my changes. We had The Study room for our event and were there for over 5 hours. The pizza was excellent and quick to be brought to us, we were never rushed, and the bar staff was ever friendly and helpful.
