Most of the gardens were closed off,and the paths very muddy, lovely sunshine but wasn't worth the money paid to get in.the carpark area needs improvement too as some spaces were too small making it impossible to get out of you're car

The only reason I’m marking this as a 3/5 is due to goathland. The rest I’d say was 5/5. Goathland used to be home to the set of heartbeat. When I came before it had the police vehicles push biles green grasses lock up. Everything has gone. The aidensfield arms which used to be open to the public no longer is and they have ruined the atmosphere by the way your escorted into the bar. Really not a good day at all. If it hadn’t been for the steam train it would have been a complete waste of time.

Very busy day staff doing there best to deal with large numbers at Pickering station. Pickering station is superb clean and looks like it's still 1930. Only complaint is lack of seating on the platform it was a very hot day and out of the trainshed there was no where to sit. Looks like they've really nailed the authentic British rail experience from the unintelligible platform announcements to the 20 minute late running of the trains ( which strangely enough added to the experience.) The train itself was spotless. Again only 1 complaint, lack of toilets. But as rules about waste on tracks has changed and these are very old coaches I can see why.nmust be expensive to retrofit waste tanks etc. Enjoyed the ride through spectacular scenery to whitby where we were needed of the train and into the town. I decided to cut short my time in whitby and take a regular NR service so I could explore grosmont Again a spotless and well equipped station tho the lack of shade on a really hot day was a problem. Had a fun day all said and done really worth the trip

Booked the Stream Train, Whitby and York Moors day trip as a break from visiting places of interest in York, and thoroughly enjoyed the day. Driver very knowledgable about the history of villages we passed through and origin of their names, which added to the day out. Whitby was great for fish and chips, and a nice place to wander around. And the stream train from 'Aidensfield' was a great. All in all a great day out and well worth every penny, and would be happy to do another trip with these guys in ever back in York again.
