About
The Albion Brewery Bar provides the perfect showcase for the resurgent Phipps NBC and a warm and welcoming environment to enjoy our range of award winning beers. Not only can you sit down with one of the finest pints of ale in the whole county but you can enjoy a wide variety of live music showcasing a whole host of the finest talent Northamptonshire and beyond have to offer. We have added an oak and glass partition between the bar and brewery so customers can view the working brewery as they drink and eat. Almost all the bar's fittings are reclaimed with many coming from old closed Phipps pubs. We have kept the space true to its origins as a working brewhouse so you can drink ale with the smallest carbon footprint in the county but the biggest taste and the longest history. Hot food is available on Sunday lunchtimes and advertised food nights. There will be gigs and events as advertised.

    Great place for Sunday lunch.
A little gem close to the town centre. The building is old and was used as garage/stables in the original brewery(I believe). It has a wonderful industrial "steam punk" atmosphere and the brewery vats etc may be seen through a glazed partition. I had Sunday lunch and a pint of Phipps IPA and both were splendid and reasonably priced. It is very civilised with tasteful music not too loud. Likely to appeal to more mature discerning punters. Historical photos and artefacts relevant to the brewery are displayed.

    A Beer Festival every time
Arriving early for a Northampton Saints match, I often trek 15 minutes away from the ground to enjoy a pint at the Albion. Loads of choice of the beers brewed on site and served by the lovely folk behind the bar. Live music is advertised but as I live 3 hours away in North Wales I've yet to sample an evening here. Make a detour when you have time.... well worth it, it's a beer festival every time they open. BTW do check opening times.

    Not just a beer tour.
Great Visit! Our group of 17 enjoyed a very interesting & knowledgeable tour from Ian. You don't have to be a beer lover to enjoy this tour, Ian throws in lots of information about Northampton history and its relationship with brewing. Our group tour was booked a couple of months in advance. Full credit to all the team who opened up and honoured our booking despite being closed for re-decorating. Thank you x

A great town centre pub with lovely local ales.
A lovely place for a nice drink in a laid back quieter environment. The real ale selection is without exception, great, it's brewed about 5 metres behind the bar. Had a freshly cooked Sunday lunch, great value, nicely presented and very tasty. Highly recommended,

Very interesting tour with beer tasting followed by a great Sunday roast and more beer. Couldn't fault it. The tour guide gave a very interesting talk about the history of the brewery, the building and Northampton breweries. We had beer tasting while we listened. When finished we had roast lunch which was great. The barman was friendly . The tour and food was good value and I would recommend it.

Brewery tour, had wanted to do this for sometime as both the phipps beer and the Albion bar are something to sing about in the town of Northampton.
The tour was excellent value for money and opted for the lunch after.
The tour was very informative and loved dining out the history of brewing in the town.
I didnt realise how big the town was regarding brewery history and that the stone structure in the bar is part of 11 century Northampton brewery history.
The tour was enjoyable and the samples of beer during the tour were good.
It was rounded off by a great sunday roast (nutloaf with goats cheese) and veg, whilst my son had the roast beef, washed down by a pint of Phipps IPA.
I would highly recommend the tour for both locals and anyone who visits Northampton, It highlights Northamptons rich history with brewing beer and to steel a logo from another brewery in Northampton " prberbly the best brewery tour in the world". Certainly the best IPA, walked away with 8 bottles of IPA and a pint glass, thankyou @PhippsNBC

Spacious and bright with loads of character, interesting memorabilia and a great atmosphere. Good to see the old pub games like bar billiards and skittles and the absence of giant television screens with the only sounds, the murmur and laughter of punters enjoying themselves. Chatted to the friendly barman about the impressive range of cask ales brewed on site, ciders, local gins and spirits.

Been in a few times but on this occasion popped in for one of the food nights on a Thursday, Pie night this week. Had the steak and ale pie. It was really tasty, full of meat and the chips were home made. 5* and the ale wasn’t half bad either. Will definitely be back again.

Turns out I can organise a P=%s up in a brewery.
I can recommend the tour. So much knowledge about the town and its brewing history. Make sure you order the pie afterwards.
Great value for money and you get a beer token for after the tour. A great way to spend an evening.
