Had an amazing morning today visiting the beautiful Alpacas. We were guided around by Paul who told us all about them, their names, personalities and lots of info about his friendly herd.
We got to hang out with them in their paddocks and feed them. They were all very calm and inquisitive.

We really enjoyed our visit. It was something quite different to get up close with the Alpacas. Kathryn was so knowledgeable and passionate about their animals. We learnt so much.

We were visiting the UK, and decided to visit Alpaca Encounters on a whim. We were lucky to score a last minute availability spot and were so glad we did! Our family of 4 (kids 12 and 10) spent about an hour and a half having an incredibly fun and personalized experience. We were able to get up close to feed and snuggle with so many different alpacas (even babies) discovering the various looks, behaviors, and personalities of these adorable creatures! We learned so much from Paul, who is a great host; very knowledgeable with a clear love and appreciation for the animals. We would definitely recommend Alpaca Encounters to anyone looking for something a little differently. It was a huge hit with our kids, plus the location meant we could spend the rest of the day in beautiful Hexham town centre. Thanks for a great experience!

We were lucky enough to get an appointment via email with Paul and his amazing alpacas.
From start to finish the experience was just superb, (I haven’t stopped talking about it for the last four days). We were given so much information about alpacas and their daily life, Paul and Catherine are clearly devoted to these amazing animals.
I got the opportunity to walk one of the males down the field on the way back to his field a short distance away. We fed them which was delightful. We met all the males in one field, then the females and young alpacas in a separate one, my husband even had the opportunity to hold Desmond the youngest alpaca.
This experience is such good value for money, I wish we lived nearer as I’d be a regular visitor.
A big thank you to Paul for Making our morning so special, we will definitely return with members of our family who desperately want to visit after seeing all my many photos!

Had a fantastic visit here and a great time meeting the animals. Hannah was very knowledgeable and we learnt loads about the Alpacas and had a great time meeting them all. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

A truly fantastic experience. I took my 11yr old daughter who thoroughly loved the encounter. It was a pleasure to have Paul take us around all the alpacas - incredibly friendly and informative, and that makes the world of difference. I recommend this activity to anyone!

We had never seen or known much about alpacas at all before this trip but after a lovely tour with Catherine, the super friendly and enthusiastic guide, we could not get enough! The animals are very inquisitive, gentle and trusting of Catherine (and by association, her guests) so there were no concerns at all of any mishaps. It was a lovely experience we shared and no doubt, I will be back with my fiancee for another afternoon with Catherine and her beautiful alpacas.

We had the best time as a family of 6 at the alpaca encounter. Paul was so informative and it was such an interactive experience, would highly recommend for a fun family day out. Great selfie opportunities too. Thanks Paul and Samuel

We took 20 of our youth group along as part of our big summer week away and every one of them loved the time we spent with Paul and the alpacas, as did all of us leaders!
Paul was full of facts, but in no way overloaded us with them- perfectly pitched. We got to walk some of the boys around the field and feed some of the girls before then feeding some of the nursing mums and getting closer to their young ones, including a wee two-day-old which one of our girls got to help weigh.
All in all a beautiful time! And now everyone wants to ditch jobs/ uni/ school and raise alpacas instead!

We so enjoyed welcoming you all. With such a large party walking the boys was a good option, we don't often do this, preferring to let everyone roam free.
Desmond is now fully latched to his mum and his weight is stable. I will endeavour to keep you posted on his progress.
