    Lovely walk
Really enjoyed a lovely walk today, however, I do feel the parking is steep. Regardless of how long you stay it is a fixed £10. If it was £10 for the whole day I would understand, however, it it started at around £2 for an hour and increased up to a full day that would seem fair to me.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us with your thoughts and we're delighted to hear you enjoyed it. Our car parking charge covers admission into Dalby Forest for a full day and access to 13 waking trails, 6 cycling trails, 4 running trails, adventure play areas, art sculptures and exhibitions, Gruffalo and Superworm trails, Go Ape and much more. With over 8,000 acres of Forest to explore and stunning views over the North York Moors National Park, there really is a full day experience for everyone. The income these admission charges provides is absolutely vital to continue ensuring Dalby Forest is a fantastic and safe place to spend time, and we’re keen to thank all our visitors for their support. We hope to be able to welcome you back to Dalby Forest again in the future.

Family day out at Dalby Forest ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What an absolute gem of a place to visit. I found the reviews regarding value for money and parking a bit misleading. Paying £10 for the entire day represents excellent value for money. The woodland walks and wildlife will easily keep you entertained. The routes are marked out really well, and there's lots of variety. A member of staff in the Visitor Centre was on hand to give recommendations if you're undecided. If you're a keen mountain biker, the trails look awesome, with a mixture of technical descents. Definitely worth a visit ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hi Mike, thank you for taking the time to leave us with your lovely thoughts and we're delighted to hear you had such a good experience. We very much hope to welcome you back to Dalby Forest again very soon :)

    Heaven on earth
This is the nearest you'll come to heaven on earth if you like the outdoors. Obviously it's a forest with millions of high trees in different shades of green with lovely streams running between them. Miles of walks of whatever difficulty you choose. Cycle and running routes and children's play areas. The Visitor Centre is as delight. Sit inside or up on the roof terrace. Already want to go back ASAP.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us with such a wonderful review. We're so delighted to hear you enjoyed your visit and we look forward to welcoming you back very soon :)

Nice area for walks/biking, not worth it as car park a ripoff
Good area for mountain biking with difficulty levels clearly shown. Extortionate parking fee of 10£ for 1hr 40 mins, should have looked that up but its not what you expect these days with most car parks offering digital pro-rata hourly rates...should be easy to correct for the future otherwise i will not be going again. Yours dissapointingly!"

    Brilliant Trip
Some people complain about the toll but the road has to be maintained to a high standard. From the Thornton Dale entry you soon descend to the forest village with colourful tree scenery and small holdings fields. The range of activities is tremendous ranging from childrens activities to short walks for senior citizens on gentle gradients. Staff at the visitor cebtre will advise you on the best areas for you to enjoy. There is a cafe serving meals and snacks. I spent most of a day in the forest.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us with your lovely review. We are so pleased to hear you enjoyed your visit and hope to welcome you back to Dalby Forest very soon.

    Great day out
Spent a day at Dalby Forest one of the highlights of our time there was seaway through the forest ,Alan older gent in my 60s I kinda wasn't sure if I was going to be ok on this crazy looking bike. Got to say had a wonderful time the two instructors were great we had safety brief help to get comfy then a test track until everyone felt OK then off up into the hills for over an hour we built up confidence had quick stops for instructions and all got back safely. A great experience one which I recommend to anyone. After this lunch long ques due to school kids who all were having a great time . There was lots of walks and other activities for cyclists, hill walkers and of course tree walks .
Thank you for taking time to leave us with your thoughts from your recent visit. I will share your review of the segway with our business partners at GoApe, they will be thrilled to hear how much you enjoyed your day! We hope to welcome you back to Dalby Forest very soon.

    Regular Visitor
As a regular visitor to the forest I have to say that I enjoy every single trip. There is always something to do and lots of walks. For those saying that the car parking is too expensive, I'd advise taking a membership. At £60 for a full year, even if you only visit from elsewhere, you can go as many times as you like without the parking fee each time. I'd certainly advise it. As a local I go several times a year. For dog walking I tend to head to the far side at Staindale Lake and Bridestones. It's much quieter than the visitor centre. My only criticism- Courses and learning opportunities are usually geared towards children. As an adult with an interest in forestry and care of ancient woodlands I'd like to see more adult courses offered
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review of your recent visit and for sharing the benefits of our membership along with your favourite dog walking spots! A great suggestion for adult learning, I will take this back to the team to explore opportunities. Wishing you a wonderful summer :)

Beautiful place; our experience of it was mediocre
We went for a walk along one of the marked routes. It was not circular as we had hoped, but required us to retrace the first third for the last third of our walk. We came across a curious sculpture of a winged sheep with no explanation attached. Underwhelming experience - although some of the views were very lovely. Signposting from Cloughton had no distances indicated and was not the easiest to follow. Overall and wonderful resource under-played.
Thanks for taking the time to leave us with your thoughts and we have taken on board your comments around waymarking and signage. The sculpture you mention is called the Winged Sheep and was created by artist Fiona Bowley and was placed at one of the most scenic spots in Dalby, which it sounds like you discovered. I do hope you will be able to join us again in future. :)

    Magical Place
If you are in Pickering then visit Dalby Forest, what a magical place it is. I visited with my granddaughter and we did the Zog trail and the Gruffalo trek, well worth the £10 parking fee which goes to maintaining the forest, if you are into mountain biking then this is the place for you, my son in law and his friends who are all into biking are planning to go. I highly recommend a visit if you like nature you will not be disappointed
Thank you for taking the time to leave us with your thoughts from your recent visit, it sounds like you and your Granddaughter had a super time exploring our children's trails. We hope to welcome you back in the not so distant future.

Visited in Feb, went with family and grandchildren and doggies. We did the Guffalo trail and the kids loved it had great fun. We got two Guffalo birthday packs for the visitor centre £4 each. We used the play parks as well which was good. Dalby is a favourite place of ours to visit, loads of walks and bike trails . Was half term but not to busy. Car parking is half price at the moment so that was a added bonus . We bought some ice creams almost £9 for 3 which personally I feel is abit pricey . We had a good day out

Excellent day out with the family. Lots of places for a picnic and a cooling paddle in the stream. Well worth the £10 entrance fee.

A great place for a walk and a coffee. £5 to park in winter and £10 in summer. My dogs lived it but it is, very popular with cyclist. So if you have dogs that like to chase bikes like mine, they will have to stay on the lead in busy areas.

The only negative was the toilets were not very clean.

We went to pick out a Christmas tree for the second year. Had lunch in the cafe at the visitor centre and coffee after behind the bike shop. A real treasure with something for everyone. Hiking and cycling trails for everyone. Beautiful scenery, nice cafe and gift shop and very friendly and helpful staff. The visitor centre is very accessible to all. Did some Christmas shopping while we were there.

Despite the cost to enter this haven of natural forest which is so well conserved, must be visited and appreciated. There are so many walks and nature to encounter how can you not go?

It’s absolutely beautiful and huge. There’s so much to do. We only went for a walk to find mushrooms but it was so nice. Reading about the other activities and seeing others enjoying dog walks and bike rides was great.

Would have very useful to have parking fees advertised prior to entry. Ended up paying £10.00 for 1.5 hour visit and didn’t realise cost until we were leaving. Wouldn’t have bothered had we known prior to entry. Phone internet wasn’t working in the area so couldn’t check price prior to entry - be warned !

Brilliant bike trails, lovely folk working in the visitors centre.. they actually made our day! Boys in the bike shop were a laugh and really helpful. Great little tea room tucked behind the bike shop, try the malteser tiffin! £10 to park is an ask but if you make a day of it then it's well worth it. Better still if you're staying at Forest Holidays you can get a voucher for free parking, get it before you leave the cabins!! No doubt other local stays do the same so definitely ask if you're a visitor staying locally.
Our second visit and we'll definitely be back.

We visited on a damp morning with our 2 dogs and did the walk to the bridestones, which we absolutely loved. We then walked across from the car park we were in and did the route around the lake. The park is big, with lots of different car parks within offering different trails. I'm sure we'll visit again and do some of the other walks.

Don't go here! I went to an art exhibition and was charged £10 for a 21 minute stay. Would be cheaper in Central London! Signage is also useless. Supposedly you get 20 mins for free but it takes 5 mins to get from the barrier to the car park. Total rip off merchants.
