Only half an hour on the ice for a two hour event we were forced to leave for the safety of ourselves and our children , far to many people on the ice , no steward control , people cutting in front of others, no room for skating and still people being allowed in and on the ice .
During which time I witnessed many incidents - thankfully nothing serious but a few close calls . The final decision to leave came when my children going around on a ride on were crashed into and sent flying on the ice . Upon leaving the ice I informed management who listened to my complaint and appeared sympathetic but said there was nothing they could do other than speak to the stewards - who clearly were just skating round the ring but not pulling anyone up for wrong doings . What should of been a festive treat for my family turned into a wasted 25 mile trip and being out of pocket.
Anyone thinking of going I would seriously think again .

Dangerous, no marshalling or challenging dangerous behaviours. Allowing trick skaters to claim whole corners so no one could go round. These people churned up the ice so it made it lethal for everyone else. People speed skating the wrong way round the rink, games of speed tag etc.
In all my time skating I’ve never seen a buggy allowed to be pushed round on the ice complete with changing bag. I have children myself - get a babysitter!! Absolutely mad and so dangerous. Amazed no one was seriously hurt.
I love a good time and a mess around but this was dangerous and we won’t be returning.
No management to speak to I was told hence my review. So disappointed.

Had my first ice skating lesson
Today surprised my self. Did a lot better than I thought. Went with mum. Had a private lesson just us two, as she said when I was little, once she has had surgery on her back she would go ice skating with us. Many operations later and I'm not so little now..she Is in a lot better situation than before. very frustrating it took emailing several people off the list of coaches having no reply. Then emailing the ice rink who was very helpful throughout the process. they found us cerys who did amazing job. Felt very comfortable. Relaxed coaching, as some people loose there patients with me a bit . sometimes takes me a while to get the hang of something. A lot better here on the ice than at Doncaster. And people have more awareness of whats going on the ice. Respectful and move out the way. The staff there seem nice aswell. It cost £30 a hour then the skating price £9.50 on top. Generally the coaches cost between 30 and 40 a hour for private session. After today I would love to take up ice skating properly its just the cost of it all and the 50 minute drive to get there. Dont know why they havent built one in Lincoln. But definitely going back for some more lessons. Really enjoyed myself.

Our daughter has her first hockey jamboree here and the rink is a really good one. Very tidy with decent facilities. The cafe was great too.

Only downside was parking which wasnt the easiest.

Ice Stadium at Nottingham offers great value for money...Saturday Skating from 11am till 5pm all for £11 for me and my Grandson. Staff are amazing and profssional.
My Downs Syndrome Sister left her mobile phone behind and before we got home we received a phone call from the Staff (Kelly) offering to return it to her At Bulwell the following morning. On and Above the Call of Duty..Thanks Kelly.

The Cafe prices were Very expensive..£3.80p for a Large Coke etc...but will be prepared next time for own refreshments!!

We found the staff helpful and friendly and well organised and the ice rink itself was very good, the only issue we found was that it was very very busy and a lot of people skating were young and fast and flying in and around everywhere,a bit nerve wracking when you carn't skate well, but this could have been because it was school holidays.

Thanks for the feedback Jeanette and nice comments about the staff. It has been relatively busy over the School Holidays on certain days, but the staff should also be monitoring anyone going too fast that might be causing concern to less experienced skaters, so we'll pass your feedback on. :-)

Came here to skate with my daughter, went to the afternoon session. The staff were nice and polite and kept things in order. The ice was great until a good hour into the session when it was cut up. We stayed for 2 1/2hrs and there was another good hour to go however the ice was unskateable by the end. If it was cut halfway th5the session this review would of been 5 stars.

A few good skaters, and few bad skaters. Was my first time in about 25 years, and same with some others. Others do it quite often.
The staff were great with us beginners, and helped us get the hang of it.
closed off section in the middle for little kids which was great.
Only criticism was it got a bit bumpy just before we left after about an hour and half, and thought they would have brought one of those sweeper things out to smooth it out.

We came to the session because my daughter suffers from anxiety and loves to skate . The other sessions tend to be too busy and noisy with music etc. This session was by design much improved for those who require a more gentle environment to enjoy skating . There were a few skaters that didn't seem to get the concept of it being a quiet session and this caused some difficulties for my daughter with too fast and close skating, hockey stops etc. I think some large signs that let people know that it is a quiet session would help this . The staff were very attentive and did talk to those who were not respecting the rules but once the anxiety has been triggered it is hard to relax again . Also it is unfortunate that this was the last of these sessions. I do hope you will consider putting on more. Thanks

Thanks for the feedback Nick. I understand that you have been in contact with one of our Managers on Duty about this as well. The session is quite new and we will learn from feedback received and constantly monitor to ensure the environment is relaxing and comfortable for customers, as we would want. Further sessions are scheduled for the last Friday of each month up until August, between 5:30pm-7:00pm. Thanks again and we look forward to welcoming you again soon.
