About
Perfectly located in the heart of the country, with excellent access to all major transport networks, Nottingham Greyhound Stadium is quite simply the home of greyhound racing in the East Midlands. The stadium is situated just two miles from the City Centre and only one mile from Nottingham Forest FC, Notts County FC and Trent Bridge Cricket Club at Colwick Park in the same complex as the horse racecourse. Car parking at the stadium is free. Nottingham Greyhound Stadium offers great entertainment at affordable prices for corporate hospitality, special occasions and everyone who wants to enjoy the thrill of live greyhound racing. The stadium has a top quality restaurant, three bars and a snack bar with plenty of viewing inside and out so customers can enjoy the thrill of live racing whatever the weather. A flutter costs as little as 50p so you don't have to be a millionaire to enjoy a night at the dogs. The track races every Monday, Friday and Saturday evening throughout the year.

Booked a table for 8 people costing nearly £200, it was terrible the food was honestly the worse I have ever eaten, not one of our party finished any of the 3 courses.. avoid eating there.. I emailed twice to complain..not 1 reply! We enjoyed the greyhound racing but the food was awful!! We ate at McDonald's on the way home.

So many things that could have gone wrong and all did. So we had booked a bigger room for our works Christmas do and they advised they were unable to sit us in there (even though the table was free) and separated our group into 3 tables. Very cramped and doubt it was covid safe due to being so close to everyone. The food was ok as long as you dont mind having either a hair in it or have dairy requirements. Dont advise you have a vegan menu if you cannot supply this to your customers.

The staff were under trained and very unhelpful. They had no idea what they were doing and didn't care. I don't want to be speaking to the same person (manager) over 5 times regarding if I can in fact have something off the vegan menu and for them to come back and say actually no you can't have that.

There was items missing off the dinners and I was/am suffering from having dairy in my food. Yay thanks for that!

At least their cure to all this mishap was to just give free alcohol to fix the problem. Which was a waste as I was driving.

Please remove your vegan/diary free option from your menu as you clearly have no idea what that means.

All in all, the experience was ruined and it was just unacceptable.

Visited this stadium for a night out with family while staying in Lincolnshire. Booked tickets over the phone, had no issues getting in with the virtual tickets, security staff were really helpful, wasn't keen on the virtual racecard, purchased a proper one when we arrived. Was a quiet night there, bar area and food area was very clean and found staff really nice. Bets were taken promptly and correctly, friendly tote staff.
Ordered food, though not everything was available ( common everywhere at the moment) it was not an issue. Food was cooked freshly and of good quality. Unbelievable how cheap it was, maybe tracks further south should take note!
stayed until last race, really good night, nice atmosphere, easy parking and a great track - broke even on the night so a good cheap nights entertainment. Will definitly return if I have the chance.

Been to Nottingham Greyhound Stadium many times of several years, always a great night in the restaurant, but this visit since new owners took over was very shambolic. Staff were very slow on operating the betting machines, drinks ordering was very hard to achieve and even longer for them to arrive, the Bombardier was awful (we tried three pints each one being returned), our first round ordered before the meal ordered arrived after we had received the main course. Racing was great and we had a few wins and we the company had a laugh at the situation, but not sure if to bother again.

We dined in the restaurant last night, and wasn’t overly impressed.

For starter myself and my husband had the Patè and toasted bread. The size of the toasted bread was tiny, we both needed another 2 pieces to actually be able to finish the starter. I also noticed many plates being cleared with half the meat left I presume because of a similar issue.

The main was ok, but I still feel portion size needs addressing. We had to order an extra side portion of chips for sharing to tick us over before desert.

Desert was nice enough, but whilst waiting for desert two waitress’s physically tried to clear our cutlery away before even being served our desert.

The quality of food wasn’t the standard I expected for a restaurant with a dress code.

Have to say I am disappointed to leave this review but it has to be done. Do not go to the dogs at Christmas. Service shocking (30 mins for starter to arrive, another 50 for main course), starter was cold, tinned mushrooms' with a shaving of stilton on them (tinned mushrooms, come on!!) Main course ok, pudding ok, crappy little mince pie to finish but served with no coffee or tea. Numbers of seats way oversold, sardines in a tin have more room. I get that Xmas is a time to make money but not at the expense of quality & service. Disappointed & not worth £50 a head.

We had waited since March to rearrange a night out that the venue had cancelled last minute. Our visit was not the lovely night out we had hoped for. Despite being at the restaurant early our food order was one of the last to be taken. The starters were fine, but the main courses were far from it. The beef stew and dumplings was mainly swede and had little or no beef content. The tiny half-dumpling was more like a rock cake and it was obvious that the small portion had been in the ramekin for many hours as it wouldn't pour onto the plate. Two of my companions had ordered pasta which initially came out cold. The garlic bread it was served with was stale. When they sent it back they were brought a plate of pasta and sun-dried tomatoes absolutely swimming in oil. It made them feel ill. Despite assurances that they would receive a phone call as the manager had gone home, this hasn't happened. I can't believe we paid £27 a head for that. To be honest I have eaten better school dinners. The portion sizes were meagre and the quality was atrocious. I for one will not go again.

We visited in August with our club it was an arranged trip.
The dog racing was so good we'll worth going.
We had tickets that included food and drink and a virtual race card.
Our ticket stated pie and peas when we went to order pie and peas we were told we no longer have pie or peas the food had changed to Burger n chips or Cheese burger and Chips or a jacket potato
We went for a Cheese Burger and chips unfortunately this wasn't very nice the burger tasted like it came out a tin infact it tasted very similar to the old fashioned burgers that vendors used to sell that sat in water.
We mentioned to the server about the food options and was told the tickets had the old pie n peas option and they were no longer doing pie n peas.
Bar service was very quick and efficient well done everyone 👏
Overall it was a great night and we will definitely be making a return visit

Had a great night at the racecourse, well run event and well done to all for putting on a super night 30/07/2021. Food was very nice and the staff worked hard throughout. Special mention to Carole who took our bets and supplied a sense of humour. Hats of to you all and good luck ramping up after the lockdown. Finally, hope the one dog that had an accident racing round the bend makes a full recovery,

I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was a really good night out. We booked a restaurant package which was a great way to enjoy the night. Lovely food, efficient service and without realising you get very involved in the racing! Table service for drinks and bets means that you are always fully immersed in the competitive fun of the racing.
Pleasant, friendly and helpful staff. Easy parking too!
We will be back after the Christmas period menu has finished!
