About
Perfectly located in the heart of the country, with excellent access to all major transport networks, Nottingham Greyhound Stadium is quite simply the home of greyhound racing in the East Midlands. The stadium is situated just two miles from the City Centre and only one mile from Nottingham Forest FC, Notts County FC and Trent Bridge Cricket Club at Colwick Park in the same complex as the horse racecourse. Car parking at the stadium is free. Nottingham Greyhound Stadium offers great entertainment at affordable prices for corporate hospitality, special occasions and everyone who wants to enjoy the thrill of live greyhound racing. The stadium has a top quality restaurant, three bars and a snack bar with plenty of viewing inside and out so customers can enjoy the thrill of live racing whatever the weather. A flutter costs as little as 50p so you don't have to be a millionaire to enjoy a night at the dogs. The track races every Monday, Friday and Saturday evening throughout the year.

We had waited since March to rearrange a night out that the venue had cancelled last minute. Our visit was not the lovely night out we had hoped for. Despite being at the restaurant early our food order was one of the last to be taken. The starters were fine, but the main courses were far from it. The beef stew and dumplings was mainly swede and had little or no beef content. The tiny half-dumpling was more like a rock cake and it was obvious that the small portion had been in the ramekin for many hours as it wouldn't pour onto the plate. Two of my companions had ordered pasta which initially came out cold. The garlic bread it was served with was stale. When they sent it back they were brought a plate of pasta and sun-dried tomatoes absolutely swimming in oil. It made them feel ill. Despite assurances that they would receive a phone call as the manager had gone home, this hasn't happened. I can't believe we paid £27 a head for that. To be honest I have eaten better school dinners. The portion sizes were meagre and the quality was atrocious. I for one will not go again.

Fantastic night, with a great meal in the restaurant, GF had , chicken wrapped in bacon, which tasted delicious, I had the loin steak which was also delicious, staff were friendly enough, could have done with being a bit more attentive, but apart from that ,a very good experience.

We dined in the restaurant last night, and wasn’t overly impressed.

For starter myself and my husband had the Patè and toasted bread. The size of the toasted bread was tiny, we both needed another 2 pieces to actually be able to finish the starter. I also noticed many plates being cleared with half the meat left I presume because of a similar issue.

The main was ok, but I still feel portion size needs addressing. We had to order an extra side portion of chips for sharing to tick us over before desert.

Desert was nice enough, but whilst waiting for desert two waitress’s physically tried to clear our cutlery away before even being served our desert.

The quality of food wasn’t the standard I expected for a restaurant with a dress code.

Have to say I am disappointed to leave this review but it has to be done. Do not go to the dogs at Christmas. Service shocking (30 mins for starter to arrive, another 50 for main course), starter was cold, tinned mushrooms' with a shaving of stilton on them (tinned mushrooms, come on!!) Main course ok, pudding ok, crappy little mince pie to finish but served with no coffee or tea. Numbers of seats way oversold, sardines in a tin have more room. I get that Xmas is a time to make money but not at the expense of quality & service. Disappointed & not worth £50 a head.

I REALLY DON'T KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN!!

Firstly as a family we have eaten in the restaurant several times though the food was preprepared it was enjoyable, here we go hold on to your horses!!.

Went as a family of six for Xmas dinner £300 £50 per head twice the normal meal deal. It took a waiter 50 minutes to bring us a drink after ordering them, the reps from the tote asked every 5 minutes would you like a bet I went to bed that night with his voice ringing in my ears. The food was awful they have clearly decided to source the cheapest products on the market for maximum profit. A thirty minute wait between courses. I had the mushroom and stilton on granary toast starter (tinned mushrooms and very little stilton the toast was just a lump of cheap brown bread dried in the oven) the other starters were no better.

For mains it was the Xmas dinner a tasteless fatty stuffing wrapped in a piece of reformed turkey then covered in fatty bacon, one slice of carrot, three Brussel sprouts with their storks on (lazy chef) and over cooked, frozen pickled red cabbage, half a medium potato cut into two made the roast potatoes all of this covered in gravy wether you wanted it or not (I could have plated this rubbish up for about £1:50).

Desert for me was Xmas pudding and custard the pudding resembled a fat ball I would put out in the garden for the birds it was that small and tasteless I'm sure the birds wouldn't have eaten it. All this finished with a mince pie and coffee, well the mince was missing from all the pies and they were no bigger than a two pound coin, and I had to ask three times about the coffee.

On a final note the management needs to be changed they are employing mostly teenagers without any experience which in effect is ruining the running and enjoyment of fellow customers. If you want to go to the greyhounds then by all means do just stay away from the RESTAURANT.

I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was a really good night out. We booked a restaurant package which was a great way to enjoy the night. Lovely food, efficient service and without realising you get very involved in the racing! Table service for drinks and bets means that you are always fully immersed in the competitive fun of the racing.
Pleasant, friendly and helpful staff. Easy parking too!
We will be back after the Christmas period menu has finished!

We visited in August with our club it was an arranged trip.
The dog racing was so good we'll worth going.
We had tickets that included food and drink and a virtual race card.
Our ticket stated pie and peas when we went to order pie and peas we were told we no longer have pie or peas the food had changed to Burger n chips or Cheese burger and Chips or a jacket potato
We went for a Cheese Burger and chips unfortunately this wasn't very nice the burger tasted like it came out a tin infact it tasted very similar to the old fashioned burgers that vendors used to sell that sat in water.
We mentioned to the server about the food options and was told the tickets had the old pie n peas option and they were no longer doing pie n peas.
Bar service was very quick and efficient well done everyone 👏
Overall it was a great night and we will definitely be making a return visit

I emailed twice to complain..not 1 reply! We enjoyed the greyhound racing but the food was awful!! We ate at McDonald's on the way home.
