Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

We really enjoyed this walk despite a pigeon leaving a unwanted gift on Laura ( its apparently good luck) it was fascinating to hear and see our heritage open up before our eyes with such expert and convivial company.
Lucy really knows her stuff and this is a great way to learn more about Nottingham and Watson Fothergill.

Every WF building has Easter egg surprises I have never noticed before, even after more than 40 years of visiting Nottingham regularly. I absolutely loved it. Lucy paints a wonderful picture of Victorian times, both people and buildings. A very knowledgeable and entertaining host.

Great tour. Lucy brought the whole thing to life with whit and animation, but clearly had deep and comprehensive knowledge of WF. Not knowing much abt the subject, i was afraid the tour might be a bit academic and dry, but certainly not! Recommend!

A wonderful way to spend a couple of hours and learn a lot about Nottingham as well as WF himself. Lucy’s tour was so informative and amusing, her passion was infectious and I learned so much about the city I’ve lived in my whole life and buildings I’ve walked past hundreds of times. Looking forward to joining another of her tours in the future!

I've now done this tour twice and each time I learnt new things. A great way to see some of Nottingham's interesting (and sometimes overlooked) Victorian architecture. Lucy is fantastic tourguide. This tour is highly recommended!

This was a fascinating tour that really opened my eyes to lots of wonderful architectural details and things that I'd never even noticed before, despite having lived in Nottingham most of my life.
Lucy is so well informed about the subject matter and has all the details to hand. She manages to make the tour interesting and engaging throughout, and adds her own splashes of humour to it.
The tour is primarily interesting for the obvious architectural angle, but in showing you the many buidings that Watson Fothergill designed, Lucy also manages to bring a lot of the 19th and early 20th century history of the city to life. Highly recommended!

This walking tour on a Sunday morning with Lucy was like being on holiday in our own city. Instead of going into town, doing jobs, and going home again, we took our time and admired the wonderfully ornate architecture of Watson Fothergill. Lucy's knowledge of her subject was extensive and she put it across to make it accessible, interesting and amusing for all of us in the group of twenty people. She took us to pertinent buildings and pointed out the intricacies of each. We now feel we know far more about these buildings of Nottingham than we did before and from now on we will be more aware and able to absorb more about one of our local prominent architects. We had thought about joining one of Lucy's tours for a long time and now we've been we wouldn't have wanted to miss this for anything. We will certainly like to join more of her tours in future. Thank you so much Lucy.
